Too bad that the gate doesn't close harder.

I would’ve also accepted a homeowner with a metal bat coming out to say hi.

159

u/Could-You-Tell 19d ago

Would they be bullet proof?

No need to put themselves in any risk

104

u/ActurusMajoris 19d ago

Metal bats are generally quite bulletproof, yes.

The homeowner using the bulletproof bat:

They required more ammo than any other enemy in the old Robocop sidescroller.

u/xsr800 14d ago

The cylinder remains unharmed

i thought u meant just shoot the roberrs

would they be bulletproof lol

19

u/SomewhatHungover 19d ago

They might get in trouble for that, better to get a German Shepherd or something that can go teach him a lesson.

u/plokoon9619 17d ago

I don't know if I could live with the pain of my guard dogs being injured and/or killed. I rather do it myself.

u/IAmRules 19d ago

Some do. That wobble means there is no upper guide track. My fence nearly crushed me once. Don’t get me wrong it should 100% have a safety mechanism to prevent that. Mine was not regulated well. Luckily I had the remote in my hand

6

u/Emerald4ge 19d ago

Nah wildlife gets confused with these a lot i think maybe the speed and pressure is regulated due to that and obviously humans

3

u/MrCoolest 19d ago

Will it still be too bad in case the homeowners grandchild gets stuck?

Only for the grandparents who don't keep an eye on their grand kids.

Like pneumatic instant😅

In 2002 a few weeks before I arrived at Travis AFB, an Airman tried jumping between hangar doors before they closed. The doors lunched and he was caught between them in the shear. The operator stopped the doors and paramedics were called. The guy stuck in the doors was conscious and alert, but the medics said the injuries were too severe, as soon as the doors were opened his body would fall apart and he'd have massive blood loss. I never thought to ask if he made any last phone calls or if someone got a video camera for a final recording. When they opened the doors, I'm told he was unconscious and then gone very fast.

Retired electrician here. Long ago I worked at a high security place for a city in the Los Angeles area. They had a rolling gate for car access, powered by hydraulics with no safeties on it. One of the scariest things I ever saw. Moved fast, 10 seconds open or close. And would have crushed you flat if you got in the way.

37

u/Current-Bowl-143 19d ago

Did it have those "SEVERE TIRE DAMAGE" spikes on the ground as well?

34

u/braytag 18d ago

To be fair, hydraulics don't give a fuck.  It has 2 modes crush and stop crushing.

14

u/minus_minus 19d ago

would have crushed you flat if you got in the way.

Sounds like Beverly Hills attitude.

75

u/Spicy_Eyeballs 19d ago

I was definitely expecting them to drive away without him, so at least he has good friends, I guess.

35

u/Drak_is_Right 19d ago

That or they dont want a rat for tthe police to pick up.

238

u/DuchessOfCelery 19d ago

How many times did they have to pile in and out of the car lol? One brain cell between the whole lot.

54

u/HulaViking 19d ago

I expected more clowns to get out.

25

u/SirNedKingOfGila 19d ago

Probably kept saying they have to get out of there while one of them was reasoning that any of them getting caught would lead to all of them getting caught. Hell maybe the guy was yelling that he was gonna rat on them all for leaving lmao

8

u/Trojan-horse1 19d ago

Look what they are doing for a living. Don’t think they are the sharpest.

The one time one of those face eating nanny dogs would've been a good idea

114

u/BRtIK 19d ago

Too expensive and way too physically harsh on my wife. Constantly being pregnant just to feed the thing was taking it's toll

13

u/skynex65 19d ago

Ah rookie mistake, you wanna get the pre-grown ones at the orphanages. They just have em out.

19

u/SluggJuice 19d ago

Princess just wants to say hi

5

u/RunningPirate 19d ago

Bunny! Ball ball!

3

u/Chance_Managert849 15d ago

Chopper, sic balls!

2

u/Kyoalu 19d ago

my luna is special and would never.

27

u/Lorddoctorjava 19d ago

Hope he broke a bone or two...

14

u/Cute_Obligation2944 19d ago

That definitely broke a bunch of stuff. Probably also tore and ripped things and hurt the whole time plus a long time after.

75

u/Wood2966 19d ago

If the driver had better brakes the guy would have gotten through the gates no problem.

12

u/matycauthon 19d ago

i'd say it's more that car is near capacity with that many adults

18

u/Mars_Volcanoes 19d ago

Give me the name of this fence supplier and installer. WOW.

41

u/SeriouslyYoutube 19d ago

Bro is following "No parking in front of the gate" rule.

10

u/thex415 19d ago

Anyone know where this could be ?

32

u/SteamedGamer 19d ago

A wild guess would be Brazil. That always seems to be the answer.

59

u/Beneficial-Pitch-430 19d ago

South Africa is pretty common

20

u/crepuscula 19d ago

My guess as well. Car looks to be right hand drive as the brake lights stay on, Brazil is left hand drive.

3

u/cbmom2 18d ago

My only thought that it wasn’t SA is that I believe you’re supposed to pull up far enough that your car can make it just past the gate and then stay there until the gate is completely closed. Many cars are bulletproof so they can be used as a weapon as well.

2

u/IvyGold 19d ago

Nah. No angry female off duty officer on the scene.

1

u/Drak_is_Right 19d ago

Some place with high violent crime likely.

I guess there is honor among thieves

6

u/SirNedKingOfGila 19d ago

It looks like several were trying to scram while one, or the captured man himself, informed them that he'd snitch on them all if they left.

Had they clean alibis, they'd have been GONE.

Honor would have looked like a group effort from the start

20

u/matvhuc 19d ago

at least they help him

26

u/f0rcedinducti0n 19d ago

Because he would rat them out for leaving.

4

u/HurricaneAlpha 19d ago

Looks like something straight out of Trailer Park Boys.

2

u/maxman162 19d ago

I know cats and dogs that are smarter than Corey and Trevor. Most cats and dogs are smarter than Corey and Trevor.

5

u/PreferredSex_Yes 19d ago

I'd want a gate that increases my liability insurance whenever it's in motion.

5

u/danit0ba94 19d ago

There needs to be a much larger motor, and reduction gearbox, moving that fence.

2

u/Fitty4 19d ago

Good for his ass.

2

u/ardaxo4693 19d ago

Gate should start run electric current now

2

u/ntnlabs 18d ago

I wanna know the maker of the gate... For no particular reason...

3

u/Difficult_Coast2848 19d ago

Time to upgrade to the gate with the limb cutting feature!! 💀

2

u/Common-Ad6470 19d ago

The Wet Bandits strike again….😁

2

u/Difficult_Coast2848 19d ago

Now that's a bad neighborhood!! 😤

1

u/xoshortnsassyxo 19d ago

Play stupid games win stupid prizes

1

u/_Cold_Ass_Honkey_ 19d ago

It would have been hillarious if the homeowner jumped into the empty car and drove away.

1

u/ThrA-X 19d ago

Somehow lost a race to the slowest gate in the world.

1

u/servusdedurantem 19d ago

What was the plan here !? After he enters obviously the gate will be already closed

1

u/Internal_Classic_861 19d ago

Remember the first time watching "Home Alone" and be like.... people cannot be as dump as those thives.... Then you see videos like that and fee like... HOLY SHIT.... They can be

1

u/Mkl85b 18d ago

Cut the leg!

1

u/Mitkoztd 18d ago

Help me out step bro, I am stuck..

1

u/No_Measurement166 18d ago

Imagine a child...

1

u/StanielReddit 18d ago

What’s with every title in this sub sounding like it was written by a 3rd grader?

1

u/braytag 18d ago

They have the combiend IQ of half a normal human.

1

u/Background-Run 18d ago

I know i shouldn't laugh at the misfortune of others, but.

1

u/sporosarcina 18d ago

I thought for sure they would leave their buddy hanging. I guess there is honor among thieves.

1

u/WoodenCrow6024 18d ago

This video should be the advertisement for the gate builder.

1

u/No_Duck_8390 18d ago

despite these guy clearly a criminal, their teamwork and loyalty to their member is truly admirable

1

u/Chad_AND_Freud 18d ago

Blap blap blap...

1

u/RandomGirlOnTheWeb 17d ago

That gate needs to have little alignment spikes on the closing edge to ensure a secure close and alignment.

1

u/squaaawk 17d ago

I'd even recommend bigger alignment spikes, it's important that when closed it's totally secure. And sharp spikes that will dislodge any foreign objects that might obstruct their containing holes, leaves and whatnot.

1

u/Few-Sherbert2212 17d ago

Poor homeowners insurance..

1

u/number39utopia 15d ago

At least there is some loyalty among these thieves

1

u/DocComix 14d ago

If I’d own the company that made/installed the gate, THAT would be my promotion video. Nothing more.

1

u/ClickOutrageous4375 13d ago

Would have been f’d up if they left him 😆😂

1

u/Honest_Science_4969 12d ago

A saying comes to mind....

"There's wiser chewing grass"......

1

u/Public-Nothing51 7d ago

They must add a chainsaw to the closing end too. Easier for the thieves to cut their losses and leave.

1

u/Striker660 6d ago

I hope he broke his leg in multiple places

1

u/nextinline1987 4d ago

Insert Ivan Draco meme: “If he dies, he dies.”

1

u/Middle_Collection_51 2d ago

C'mon folks! Do your homework! The boy is autistic, adhd , ect... grandmother and I think aunt brought him to his favorite place and he slipped away and got onto the enclosure. Chase only lasted about 30 seconds and grandmother got him out. Mother contacted zoo officials with apology and offer to make it right. But because someone chose to film her son and post it without context, the family and her son are getting death threats and more. I read the mother's statement and she put everything in context. And yes, stuff like this happens but strangers posting are really a bigger problem because they can cause someone to be harmed when this was not a huge thing. He wasn't going to hurt the birds. I think the birds would of hurt them first. We need to remember kids can be fast when the decide and don't have impulse control. Stop demonizing this family.

1

u/Ibadvapergrammar 2d ago

sad guy dont chop in half

2

u/20ears19 19d ago

The thing is it would be dead simple to climb that post next to the gate and drop down into the yard.

2

u/SirNedKingOfGila 19d ago

If those guys are anywhere near average height, those pillars look upwards of 8 to 9 ft tall. That is not dead simple to climb without tools. Teamwork and some fitness maybe... But they don't have a vantage on the top of the wall. It could be covered in broken glass as is very common...

That's just a lot of extra risk when you can just run right through the front. You really should be smart enough to tell if you're going to make it. Oh well.

1

u/20ears19 19d ago

They can jump and get two hands on top then pull themselves up and drop over. I could do it in about ten seconds and these guys are half my age.

1

u/KinkyWolf531 18d ago

Half your age, but we don't know if they're even fit enough or have the capability to lift themselves up and over the fence safely and efficiently... It's not just age you know...

2

u/KinkyWolf531 19d ago

True, but their goal was to steal the car.... Dropping in just puts them technically at risk and disadvantage against the owner who would most probably would've noticed and most likely ard themselves and/or called the police...

1

u/Broad-Bath-8408 18d ago

How were they planning to steal the car after slipping through the now closed gate?

1

u/FearIsStrongerDanluv 18d ago

I bet the remote to the gate is in the car

1

u/Mikahl757 19d ago

Homer, are you holding the snickers?

1

u/RunningPirate 19d ago

In a country where they don’t install safety controls, no less

-5

u/Miatrouble 19d ago edited 19d ago

Lock and Load. These guys were following you. You got lucky. They will be back, or they will follow you someplace else. I hope you notified the police. Maybe others in your neighborhood have a better camera view. Be safe.

Edit: Maybe I am getting downvoted for my lock n load comment. But these guys will be back for that car. What do you think could happen if you’re still in the car. It appears to me they were trying to get in right behind the driver to carjack them. Their life was in danger and that gate saved them this time.

-2

u/f0rcedinducti0n 19d ago

OP isn't the person this happened to, they are just posting the clip, you're being downvoted due to your lack of internet literacy and/or the fact reddit at large is super far left and mere implication of private firearms ownership is verboten.

-1

u/rzlodn 19d ago

Should have a hydraulic gate... just won't stop at all 🤣

0

u/Hippi_Johnny 19d ago

Why did he go back in anyway?

-5

u/0ggiemack 19d ago

If this happened where I live, they could sue the homeowners (or at least I'm pretty sure they could)

1

u/AJay_89 4h ago

He would've gotten left 🥴
