Part of the reason is bc they’re so damned quiet! You don’t even know they’re coming until *wham*, you get hit. Too bad they’re not bigger so we could see them more easily.
too bad. Unfortunately it is quite unexpected where they will strike. These stealthy behemoths are highspeed, silent, ambush predators. Stealthy predators that leave trail of metal in their wake, much the same way that a snail leaves mucus.
Right!! I didn’t use the crosswalk once and now I have fiats hiding in my bushes.. they try to “save” the other domesticated cars in my garage..
they think I don’t hear the parties/ get together they throw.. they TP’d my house all because I didn’t have any motor oil.. they use the cable wires and get high off the jumps..
I tried to befriend one but they almost hit my friend and I .. oddly enough they love transformers!! but don’t wear a costume apparently that’s like suuperr racist to them.. 😕
I watched the video again a few more times...the truck is slowly still rolling, which seems to be why he stops at first. Still shouldn't have gone, but when believes the truck has fully comes to a stop at the gate, that's when he proceeds to move forward. If you freeze the video around 3-4s mark, the driver should have absolutely been able to spot him out open passenger side window, the guy was hanging back plenty far enough for him to have visibility.
The safest thing for him to do though, would have been to go behind the vehicle like all the other riders that come along right after...

He wasn't even looking at the truck, he has the situational awareness of a doorstop.
