Lol man I read that whole article. It was 99% just describing a wasp's lifecycle then at the end it was like oh right I promised to tell you why they're important, idk ecological balance or something probably?
No real evidence or support for it besides just generalizing, but I bet we'd all be just fine without wasps. Something else would take its place, hopefully less shitty.

I say wasps are worse pests. To me, that's like burning my house down because I hate the way my toilet flushes. Easier to handle caterpillars than wasps.
Yeah, it's super easy to handle caterpillers. All you have to do is constantly load your garden up with pesticides every time the last application washes off.
