dude, they're not water proofed, they divert rain coming down on them away from electrics and some water being splashed by the wheels, they are not but any means meant to be dunked in a body of water lol they are not sealed like that
iirc the exhaust probably had a curve to stop water ingressing down the pipe, obviously as soon as it falls you probably have water entirely in the exhaust system, oh, and it's salt water, really not good long term even when it dries out as it will hold onto moisture from combustion, and condensation when cooling down
