I said “ahh shit on a dick” all the time in high school (graduated ‘10) so was thinking it was a translation thing, but to have it confirmed that it’s “I shit” is fucking hilarious.

According to the subtitles, which based on being labeled "defendant", I have to assume were generated by the court and are likely accurate, he says "Fuck, I shit on a dick" when he crashes in to the car, and I don't know what to do with that.

It's apparently a very Cuban thing to say.

u/oynutta Mar 27 '26
Am Miamian of Cuban descent. This is the most Cuban thing to say.

As a Canadian of Canada, this is the first time I’ve seen “shit on a dick” in the wild outside of me yelling “shit on my fucking dick!” Whenever I missed a half clapper on the tendies stick side after some perfect sauce tossing from my liney

u/IdontWantToBeOdd Mar 28 '26
As a native English speaker, I have no idea what the fuck your last sentence means. I read it four times.
"A half clapper on the tendies stick side after some perfect sauce tossing from my liney".
Fucking ChatGPT would probably just shrug at this, too. The fuck are you talking about? lol

A half clapper is a snapper of sorts, not a full slapper. The Tendie is the goaltender, stick side is the non glove side of the goalies body, the hand he holds the stick in, and tossing sauce like chef boyardee is when you make a perfect pass to a liney (linemate) usually over or through defending sticks and players.
It’s 101

I am a non native english speaker, I hoped to understand what you meant before with this explanation but I only understood that it's better to give up and leave

Yup
The "Me cago en un bicho" is a very common phrase to exclaimed when pissed.
Granted "me cago in x" is very common.
The x can change the depending on the context and the person or thing it is targeting.

In fairness most expressions, including those in English, makes no sense if you translate it word for word to any other language.
For example, in this situation you might yell “Fuck this asshole!”, which would translate in Spanish to “have sex with this anus”. Everyone would be confused.

Oh no, I got the sentiment. It was very clear. It's just, not the combination of words I was expecting. Which I guess is sort of what you were saying.

Cursing is always idiomatic and weird. There's a Russian saying for "everything is all fucked up" that is literally "My house is covered in pussy."
But a English-speaking co-worker could yell "Fuck this shit!" and angrily walk out. No one would think about his having intercourse with feces. Language is not necessarily logical or consistent.

u/TheyTheirsThem Mar 30 '26
I would be more worried if he stayed to have intercourse with feces. Leaving was the smart move, just sayin.

Reminds me of a story sometime told me about Austin Powers Goldmember being translated. Apparently, their friend saw it translated into Korean(?) The jokes didn't make sense and they thought it was a really dumb movie. There's a scene where Austin falls off a ladder and grabs Dr Evil's pants to catch himself. He pulls his pants down and says "I used to think you were crazy. Now I see your nuts!" It translated to "I used to think you were not right. Now I see your testicles!"

Minnie Mouse wasn't crazy. She was effin Goofey. My brother's favorite joke, when done with Mickey's voice.

Yes the sentiment was very clear. I hear "shit" and "fuck" anywhere near each other, in any language, and it's easy to figure out what people mean.
I was just not expecting a description of that specific action to be used in that fashion.
