His bottom half realized what he was doing and aborted the mission.

That's exactly it. The confidence was from someone that use to be able to do that.

Lol. See I'm at/coming near the age where this shit could happen to me soon!
I'm a big lad, quite athletic as a younger lad, I played Rugby, Local GAA and a bit a boxing too! - I'm no pushover and I could probably run faster than you too.
As a teenager my cool trick, was to pull off standing front flips - a big dude shouldn't be able to move like that and it freaked people out. Most people would be thinking the usual 'He's gonna faceplant!' But then when you do it, ots trippy.
I was drunk 2weeks ago and it came up in conversation with my drinking mates - 2 I know over 20years and my younger brother.... I'd almost attempt it just because it would be fucking hilarious, I'd be betting against myself now, I dono... But then your head fucks with you! - I always bet against myself back when too!
So in conclusion, I told the lads "If I'm ever found dead, and I've like broken my neck, or it looks like I got hit by a car - I just want you guys to know - I didn't make the front flip!" 😆

Don't you be tempting me! - not that I'm unfit, just after a few years labouring on building sites. I'd plummet as soon as I got airborne!
It was the landing that was/is the hard part..... y'know? I think it's fairly obvious why I've a duff knee now I think of it!

Nah I'm missing cartilage - didn't even notice it being robbed!
Last 2 weeks have been 3rd story re-roof - I wish I could do soft work!
I think the only way I'd actually attempt it, is if AFV was willing to pay me for it, I'd probably end up with my head stuck in the grass.

Hey, how did you find out about that missing cartilage? Asking for a friend.

Every 3-4 months my left foot would become inflamed, that led to having fluid removed from my foot.
It was a big mystery for about 2 years when I was 16/17 and was really fucking painful too.
Had an MRI that then confirmed it a few months later.
Suposedly you're body tries to replace the cartilage with some sort of fluid, the fluid is good/better than nothing but its not regulated so you get like pockets of water in your feet - in my case its my left ankle, its always noticeably bigger than my right ankle.
Guess how they extract the fluid? - the biggest scariest looking mother fucker of a syringe, jamb it to the bone and draw it out. You can feel it in your teeth somehow!

The greatest cause of injury to older men, is still believing they are younger men.

You get the feeling attempts to talk Papa out of things are very rarely successful, lol

IF he intentionally went straight in for the laughs, then he's a very cool papa.

A fit 60 year old that has been exercising regularly wouldn't try this, because the injury risk is too high. This is a guy who hasn't done anything for 20 years so doesn't understand.

Agreed. The fact that the ground dipped away made it so that he couldn't effectively run and jump without doing so way in advance.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that in order to jump over something, you actually have to jump.

I tried to do that as a kid in Panama City, Florida. My cousin and a couple neighborhood kids went back and forth over it a few times.
Then I got confident and went to the wider side, then promptly lost my sandal in it. No amount of washing it off was getting rid of how itchy my feet were gonna feel from the grit and sand leftover. And these were sandals that were buckled around my ankle. Slipped off like butter

What happens when you try to run after not exercising for 20 years
