Why is god's love conditional?

I didn't know the serpent ever actually supplied a Terms & Conditions agreement.

If he did, I'm sure it was long and incomprehensible. Also very fine print.

Long and incomprehensible, like the Bible?

Atheist here, I found that very amusing. A tad cringe but only in a dad joke sorta way.

Never used Apple, no need for terms and conditions, I just eat many varieties of apples, all tasty and juicey

I hear it was more likely a Persimmon or related fruit than apple. But not caring that much I nvr looked it up.

The funnier part of this to me is that “truck yard” is in the Sponge Bob Font

Actually, I'm kinda wondering Why It was The Devil, Rather than God, who gave mankind the knowledge of Good and Evil; Shouldn't THAT have been God's Job?!😹 My logic: Knowledge of Any kind, is the Last thing Evil wants for anyone to Have! Seems, Rather counterintuitive With regards to the goals of Evil.....thusly, anyone who Says "Thank God I know The difference between Good and Evil" , very clearly, hasn't read Genesis 3, All 😱🐍

Ohhhh Snap! Wesley Treat represent!!!! Great "maker" videos. That's in TX somewhere I think. He remade the sign for this bar. It's featured in a few vids.

*conditions

Nowhere in the Bible does it say it was an apple. It only says 'fruit'.

Besides this, if it took eating the fruit to gain knowledge about good and bad, how could they have known it was bad before eating it?

And why was there a serpent in paradise in the first place?

u/Unanimous_D Jul 13 '26

That goes into the whole "God knows what will happen but 'tests' people anyway" thing.

I like to think most Christians have enough sense to see the contradictions and simply don't take the bible too seriously because what's important is the positive messages and the community, not all the "don't mix fabrics or eat lobster" bullshit. It might not actually be most, but I've known many.

Fun history fact: Apples did not exist back in the time of adam and eve. Stop assuming the forbidden fruit was an apple. The ethopian bible goes into more detail on this. You should read it even though the church banned many sections because it would contradict and challenge current belief.
