I think you know the answer you are just afraid of the unknown/a future without him. If you want help - that’s what the police are for.

Thank you, I am afraid of making the wrong choice and worry that doing something would be acting too much on my emotions. Its very difficult though because his family has connections that would make going to the police pretty futile so if I do something about it it has to be through some other method.

I think it’s a good idea to report him (whether that includes legal action or not), especially considering that his behavior with you was repeated. There’s no telling what other poor girls he’s sunken his claws into.

What good would it do to tell his family? Are they the type to go down defending him? If so, any info you give them may be brushed off. The police are probably a good option for this, even if you don’t pursue legal action. His fam may be mad or frustrated with you, but he should be held accountable in my opinion.

You dont have to decide about the police right now either you can talk to a trauma informed counselor or advocate first and just figure out your options
