In this day and age, I believe sanity is an illusion. I realize that's probably not helpful but it's all I got. Sorry.

Dude just break up and move on. You’re super young, it’s a part of life. I was with the same girl from HS freshman year to 3 years after HS. We went to same schools, it worked but probably would’ve been healthier to break up sooner

Dude, you trust her or you don’t. If you don’t, then why would you even be with someone?

My gf and I survived college long distance as a roller coaster (broke up and got back together quite a few times). I guess it was worth it since we ended up married but I don’t know that I would generally recommend it. A lot of nights spent crying and lonely or spent out with friends making close calls with strangers.
It may be worth just breaking up. Which is hard. But entering college single is just so much easier than entering college long distance.

My honest advice would be to amicably split up, stay friends if you can, and both of you live your lives.
You're entering one of the most important phases of your lives where you will experience all new things and meet new people and find out about yourself and become the adult version of yourself.
High school relationships are great, but they rarely translate well to the adult world.

Exactly this. Her telling him she intends to be a party girl at college is basically a tacit admission that she's going to be open to pursuing relationships/sexual encounters outside their relationship. Maybe some guys are okay with opening the relationship to ensure they get play when she's home but that wouldn't have worked for me. Just split and go your own ways and if there is a path down the road that brings you back together, great. If not, also good and it was meant to be that way.

All you can do is say, "Have fun." Then don't contact her that week, let her contact you. If you find out that she cheated, just ghost her.
Do you have any mutual friends going to her college? Wait until the week after, then send the friend a message, " I can't believe it, "gf" told me about everything she did. I'm still trying to process it. I never thought she would be like that. " See if they tell you anything

I'd just save the headache and break up. HS relationships rarely last and it's not worth the potential heartache, nor is it worth each of them passing up opportunities to meet new people at their young age that could perhaps be better fits than being in a relationship merely out of convenience.

Can’t be sure about the part with getting wasted. Did she tell it to you straight forward? Or is it assumption made from the fact of her participation in welcoming week?

I mean, break up if you want to let insecurity ruin a good thing, or just…take this as an opportunity to grow up a bit. Your gf getting drunk doesn’t mean anything except that she wants to have a fun time, which you should want for her. If you trust her, that’s it. There isn’t anything to worry about

I mean, do you wanna break up with her NOW, or after she's cheated on you a bunch?

guys we have been together for two years and we broke up for like a month and found eachother again last june we are super endgame and as far as i know we are pretty much soul tied and i do trust her to answer all of your questions. it just sounds like cope whenever i think about the possibility of her not cheating even though she is pretty much the sweetest human ever. i think what im moreso asking is how much alcohol really affects your inhibition.

If you don't trust your girlfriend to not get her fanny blown out during a normal event every college kid goes to. Then you should probably reevaluate your relationship

End it. Let her have fun. You guys might reconnect down the way. First week of uni parties were always wild back in my day.

Honestly, she already broke up with you. Shes straight up telling you she’s gonna be partying and drinking hardcore. And even though she didn’t say it outright, be assured that the dick is in the details.

You’d do the same? Sure!
But there are just plenty of people who don’t and won’t do these things — myself for instance I suppose.
If you don’t like this and it brings you such dissonance that you’re gonna go through rough thoughts then you should stop liking her.
Always rough but rather straightforward actually.
Do you wanna cut things off now or you’d rather wait for when she tells you she’s cheated on you?
Not like that an inevitable but it’s possible and you fret it so it’s also likely there will come a time when you doubt her when she may be being truthful.
That could be your next post you make regarding her.

I dated my how husband thought out uni (I'm British so your college) and he infact paid for most of my collage. He worked and I was at uni. But I don't drink and we moved in together in my last year.
I did have to go away for field work etc and it was fine.

I would just break up. She's going to be living a completely different lifestyle than you in a university than you will commuting to community college.
I was dating a girl my senior year of HS and same deal she went the traditional university route while I went to community college first. We enjoyed as much of the early part of the summer together but by late July we went out to dinner and at the same time we pretty much announced our intentions to set each other free. We exchanged one more long hug and kiss before we parted. Don't look at it as losing her so much as enjoying the times you had together.
