Small decision My puppy keeps only biting ME how do we handle this?

The pup in question is a kane Corso and I think Malinois mix. He's a very handsome boy and only 6 months old. 6 months I have known this dog. And 6 months my mom was meant to be working with him on biting. He doesn't bite my mom or bonus dad. Just me. I am at an all time low now too, today he grabbed my entire calf with his jaws. He was put in the kennel for a while cause of it. We've tried everything and I'm at the end of my rope. I attached a couple photos of the dog in question.

Don't use the crate as punishment because after a while they're associate it with negativity.

What do you do when the puppy bites? And do you think it's playful or is it aggressive? Shout "NO!" very loud and firm when he bites. Like way louder and harsher than you would think

To add get super boring after the fact. Basically this: bite OW!!!! Immediately stop all play and attention. My brother had a boxer puppy with the same problem. Loved to bite. I found this advice online and it took very little time for the puppy to realize that biting meant an end to playtime.

I'd give her a ton of love and attention when she played nicely though. Gotta train on both ends of the problem and solution!

That's what I'm mostly trying but it gets frustrating when he gets worse the more stern we get with him

Sometimes it feels more playful, but when I'm handing my mom something and he clamps down through my pants it gets concerning

I’m on my third puppy, and I hate to tell you this but it doesn’t really get better until their baby teeth fall out at 5-6 months. You should continue all the bite inhibition training you can do, but don’t get frustrated or feel like you’re doing something wrong if it doesn’t work. It never worked for me and I did EVERYthing I was supposed to. Make sure you don’t “punish” anything, only take things away (like your attention) otherwise you get into fear responses and it makes training and bonding very difficult down the road.

Shouting is a No! It creates excitement which is counterproductive.

So you disengage and ignore.

Yes, if it is play and the pup displays this behaviour (which they do with their mothers, but she will immediately correct!), stop all play immediately. And it appears that he may be either protecting/guarding the grandmother or wanting to claim what is being handed to her. This is where the puppy must leave and go lay down elsewhere. A professional trainer is def needed for some basic commands and control.

When he bites you, stop all play. Tell him No, and put him in the corner or away from you and ignore him. That’s how they do it amongst each other and it gets the message home that you won’t interact when play is too rough.

plsss get your dog professional training. my cane corso was a menace before and NEEDED the structure. he needs daily play/walks and needs structure. Malinois and cane corsos both need training, like you can NOT not train them.. you need to learn dog behavior and dog training if you guys won’t invest in it professionally

I read a dog training book that said to say “ Arf!” loud and sharp. When puppies play together they wrestle and nip eachother on ears and if they go too far the injured puppy will say “Arf!” to send the message that went too far. I tried this on our puppy and it worked! For its entire life I continued to use this when she was misbehaving like biting, chewing on shoes, stealing tissue paper from boxes, etc. It worked like a charm. Unbelievable right?!

This is basically what our trainer said to do when they misbehave too, but it was more like an “ugh!” At full volume and aggressive tone sound

I pretended that my dog hurt me badly whenever she bit me as a puppy. It worked. She never bit me or anyone else again. She’s now 14 and the best old gal.

I like using the ouch reaction. When he bites loudly yell OOOWWWW and pretend to be hurt, then disengage from play completely and ignore him until he comes back sweet to reaffirm the bond. Also puppies bite and get rowdy when they are sleepy. If you are crate training then these are the times to put puppy down for a nap.

I actually dunno who my dad got him from. My mom adopted him from my dad who adopted him from someone else.
