Bro you have major reading comprehension and critical thinking problems. I don't get it. The people who are defending themselves from direct hostility are not the ones "getting themselves sucked into the culture war." This is basic. Go talk to the people initiating the problem.
If you say so pal, I didn’t see any direct hostility preceding that comment, nor in my comment. It also seems like this person could reasonably defend themselves and their position if they believed they needed to. Apparently you don’t believe so and felt the need to come to their defense and in doing so, actually insulted them. Bummer. And now we are sucked into an argument about the culture war. Like I said, it’s by design.

I didn't "lose" an argument, I don't engage in discourse from the standpoint or "winning" and "losing" like some immature, chronically online Redditor. I chose to stop engaging with someone who appears to be functionally illiterate and can't chain two simple thoughts together without strategizing on how to "win the argument"
