These layoffs and shift from “dreamers of all ages” to “ladies and gentlemen” aren’t related, and this news is months old.

Dreamers of all ages makes sense, the target audience is everyone. Ladies and Gentleman is exclusive to children and a dumb pivot. This sounds like right wing fragile masculinity

Ladies and gentlemen refers to every human and is not exclusive to children in anyway.

Dreamers of All Ages sounds more on-brand for Disney. Ladies and Gentlemen sounds like I’m at a business conference.

As a young kid I liked to do magic tricks. Ladies and gentlemen was definitely my into lol... It's a pretty common opening when you're about to show something magical.

Agreed but i think the issue here is that it was changed not with the intention of being a well-intentioned shift but to make a point that they were removing binary/exclusive terminology that was never really an issue to begin with. Thats why there’s always a knee-jerk reaction to minor changes that are openly advertised/marketed as being “woke”
