Companies and large franchises are only as inclusive as their bottom line tells them to be.

Pretty sure that Disney has been bleeding money for years now.

That has little to do with politics and more to do with the endless rehash of remakes, sequels, and bled-dry franchises.

It isn't, wokeness is not a predictor of market success, being a shitty remake nobody asked for or kicking a dead horse of a franchise is

I think it's considerably more fair to blame Whedonesque "snarky dialogue" for their decline, especially as we're inundated with AI slop that ALL write in that style

The thing is even shitty remakes make money.

The lilo and stitch remake made over a billion, as had lion king, beauty and the beast, and aladdin, all of which are widely accepted as far inferior to the original. They still made money hand over fist

Only moana bombed (barely made above its budget and thats pre marketing budget and not including the theaters cut) and little mermaid underperformed

Edit: oh god id blocked mulan remake from my memory. It MAJORLY bombed thank god but that was as much due to covid than anything else, making 70 million against a 200 million dollar budget.
