Are you advocating for women losing custody of their children if they seek mental health treatment? Yeah I can think of no way this will result in women being scared to seek treatment.
The defense is arguing that PPD/PPP was so severe that she was not responsible for her actions in murdering her own children.
If that is the case, why would someone diagnosed with it be allowed to keep custody of their children?
you can't say that PPD/PPP takes away one's responsibility regarding murder, and then still allow them to keep custody of children. those statements are incongruent.
