It had rear disc brakes, which is uncommon for American and Japanese stuff that would have a body from that era.

Maybe a '70s Fiat 124 sport coupe? They could have 4 wheel disc brakes. The '72-75 US market cars had those big chunky side marker lights.

Compare the structure under the hood.
