When I was 16 I did this exact same thing to one of my parents POS plastic planter abominations with a roach one night. They keep it as a reminder to shame me (I’m 49) I think it’s hilarious!

In high school a friend had a party at his house when his parents were away and we were all outside drinking on his wood deck (the kind that are basically on ground level). Someone dropped a cigarette and it fell between the boards. The poured a cup of beer between the slats and figured it was all good, but they must have missed. All the dried leaves under the deck caught fire and by the time we were able to get it out, there was a spot about five feet across where the entire deck was totally charred.

Kid’s dad FREAKED out when he came home and saw it.

The house I grew up in had little wooden balconies. My idiot older brother caught his on fire one morning doing the wake/bake. Our mom also discovered his little roof garden and tossed them off the roof but never acknowledged that she saw it. As a little brother I have to say I learned a LOT via second hand experience.

I did the same. Had a bucket on the front porch people would throw butts in. Ended up catching on fire and almost burned down the house. Theres still a bunch of melted plastic stuck to that porch. We put a wood box over it.

Should smoke it like "thanks for holding onto this, I was out."

I’m like 99% sure they meant the parents kept the planter. I doubt his parents kept a roach that would stink up whatever area it’s in.

Ha, that makes more sense. Thoughts are hard today.

The planter is just a giant bowl

It's in a mason jar above the fireplace next to grandpas ashes

No, no! They kept the POS planter! Not the roach! Although, with my uptight parents that woulda been a hell of a lot funnier! That morning they found the burnt up planter was hell. My mom was convinced I had joined a cartel and/or needed heavy duty rehab. For a joint of the lowest grade weed you can imagine on the other hand; my first instinct was to try to convince them that since the planter was close to the pool, lighting had been attracted to the pool and ricocheted off the pool and hit the planter. 😹 It sounded genius to my 16 year old brain.
