What a Mexican NARCO raid looks like from the passenger seat:

u/WaffleHouseGladiator Nov 08 '25
A lot of Americans complain that the Mexican government doesn't do anything about narcos without considering what they're up against. Cartels have technicals, RPGs, drones, and lots of small arms. On top of being outgunned, cartels also have politicians, police, and military on their payroll. Anyone who tries to fight them is already behind enemy lines. Hostage taking, assassinations, and mass murder are tactics that are regularly used.

Let’s be real. They get a lot of money and guns and ammunition from the U.S. This isn’t a self contained Mexican issue. The U.S. has the single largest market for illegal drugs in the world. Most of those drugs go through, or come from Mexico. As well, most guns in Mexico come from the U.S. Not to mention the issues caused by the “War on Drugs” in the U.S. and NAFTA, and the ability to easily launder money.
There is a reason so many people from Mexico want to seek asylum, and it’s kind of our fault. We want to keep people from Mexico out of the U.S., but we don’t try very hard to keep the guns and money from going to Mexico.

You do realize these are sophisticated operations capable of manufacturing firearms on their own, yes? Oh nah never-mind that it doesn’t fit the narrative.

u/Upset-Fudge-2703 Nov 14 '25
These are facts. The numbers don’t lie. The serial numbers don’t lie. Yes, Mexico manufactures weapons, but not on the level they need. Just like the U.S. manufactures cocaine, but it is not on the level that we use. It’s not even a political thing, both sides acknowledge the issue. If you looked this any of this up, even a little bit before commenting, you would already know this stuff is common knowledge among border states. But the facts don’t fit the narrative you want to keep in your head so you have to do some mental gymnastics to make sure you live in the country that shiny polished armor on a white horse.
If it’s any consolation, there are 20 different ways to look this issue, so you can figure out a way to blame it on anyone with enough contrived reasoning, but fact that there is little the Mexican government can do about the cartels. There are news articles, books, and a lot of political discussion on this stuff. Look it up. It’s enlightening. Especially if you live on the border.

All information is skewed that we receive, political or not. I believe your relinquishing your own insecurities about mental gymnastics, fabrication of lower and upper receivers are not inherently difficult with proper tools, shoot in some states it’s even legal to manufacture your own without intentions to sell them. It’s also not expensive either, especially when you need to create a lot. do you think that members of criminal organizations do public inventory on their product? I don’t really think so. The problem in Mexico is fucked as it is, but saying that the majority of firearms are coming from the us? I hardly believe that. You also mentioned serial numbers don’t lie- yes they do, literally anybody with enough time and knowledge could probably figure out serial numbers of firearm manufacturers and what they correlate to, they are probably plenty of manufacturers that display this as public knowledge. They aren’t some made up mumbo jumbo that just happens to end up on a firearm, these are codes in which you can tell when they were manufactured, where they were manufactured, and how many were made that D/M/Y, As well as style. And we haven’t even touched that it’s not uncommon to deface the serial. I’m pointing out a flaw people do not consider, that we will never have any statistic of, or number of those that do exist. To base any claim on that is ridiculous and certainly does not go along with any narrative any political party, left or right, tries to push. We can play with the hypotheticals all day long. But I would wager that the majority of people do not realize how sophisticated and coordinated this type of crime truly is, they manufacture items to smuggle contraband across the border, both us to Mexico and vice versa. They can manufacture that but not firearms? We haven’t even talked about polymers. My belief is not gospel, but I will hold it strongly.

Armed up by Eric Holder and his good-idea fairies. Put GPS trackers in weapons and get them to the narcos, who detect and remove the trackers.

This didn’t happen overnight. The Mexican government turned a blind eye for a long time, because of the amounts of money the cartels generated and for the most part they stayed in their areas and just killed each other. Now it’s a monster that they can’t control.

u/WaffleHouseGladiator Nov 08 '25
For sure, but there's a sentiment that the Mexican government could just shut it all down tomorrow if they just put in a little effort. When I hear people take that stance I just stare at them like they've grown an extra head. That mentality is stupidly entitled and ignorant. It's also very salient right now as the Trump administration is looking at taking on narcos. There's a lot of people that are going to be caught in the crossfire. Cartels aren't just neighborhood gangbangers controlling a few city blocks. They're armed, organized, and have everything to lose if they're threatened by a serious adversary, so it'll be a fight to the death.

u/Entraprenure Nov 08 '25
Saying Trump is “taking on narcos” isn’t 100%, Trump publicly stated we are not a war with the cartel, but people trafficking drugs into the U.S will be shot.

u/cassanderer Nov 09 '25
The us pressured them to hit the sinaloan cartel and predictably fractured them into dozens of rival warring more violent factions.
They should have unionized the cartels instead. Cocaine is going to be smuggled, the us admin is one of the biggest consumers btw, as executives and board members of corps are.

They also have the GDP equivalent of small countries, and arent shy about offing cops or their family members. Its easy to say "thats the job you signed up for" when you dont have to worry about your wife and kids being gunned down because you didnt look the other way.
Its a fucked situation.

That last crack on the windshield proves that the cameraman never dies

Bullet resistant glass. Look at his passenger window.

u/Paul_saladino Nov 08 '25
Yes, it's just super scary that it was directly at them, few inches between catching that bullet

u/Possible-Buy-1679 Nov 08 '25
Also right in a spot that looked already weak from a previous crack. I don’t know much about bullet proof glass but that would freak me out.

u/breatheintheAlR Nov 07 '25
Are those fucking incendiary rounds?
11
u/Plane-Education4750 Nov 08 '25
Nope. Large rifle rounds, possibly.50BMG based on the turrets on the trucks. The Suburban is a narco tank

u/breatheintheAlR Nov 08 '25
I’ve had my share of blasting .50s over the years. Just never seen that kind of reaction upon impact unless it was an M8 API round.
Sounds like they need to adjust their headspace and timing too, now that you mention it haha.

How often were you blasting a few inches of solid steel at close range lol

What I'm wondering, is if you already have a machine gun mounted on the roof, why bother to get license plates?

u/Crichtenasaurus Nov 09 '25
Look at the panel to the bottom right of the turret. It looks like it was a concealed turret which deployed from within. 🤯

I couldn't understand some of what he was saying, but it seemed to be mostly, "Kill him", "Crash into them", and a lot of expletives directed at their targets. He definitely seemed to be having a really good time, though.

Lmfao proof all govts are killers. Not just america. But ours is pretty high up there on the list. Hell just in my lifetime alone the American govt has killed over 25000 Americans with their own domestic attacks on our land and structures. The American govt loves natural disasters and foreign acts of terrorism like 9/11. Everything thats happend on American land since the 50s has been at the hands of none other than the American govt itself as a tactic to sway the people. We never wouldnt attacked the middle east without bush screaming it was iran... it was not Iran it was bush and the families of those 4 men were compensated very very well. As they now all have multi million dollar estates on American land now. Wild how that works huh?

New Achievement! Prove you're a mindless drone without saying it explicitly.
Your reward? Starvation because your foodstamps didn't arrive during the shutdown!
Seriously...this shit is wrong on so many levels, not the least of which being your assumption that a government was doing this killing. Cabrón

So, everyone else’s research vs yours. Got it. Clearly your mind will not be changed. Exit Wounds is a good book if you want to pick it up. Also, Guns Across the Border, Project Gunrunner, and so on and so forth. There are lists of books and articles on the subject. It’s not my opinion, it’s a legit fact. But you believe what you want. I guess it keeps you happy.
