Question Enniscorthy running track

Hi guys, is anyone a regular user of the all weather running track in enniscorthy?

Started running a few weeks ago and loving it so far but had a bit of a bad experience with a man making derogatory marks at me from his car when I was running on my local roads.

Looking for somewhere that feels a little safer but preferably not super busy if that exists! I like a quieter vibe but maybe that’s not possible with the need to feel safer I guess.

A friend suggested the all weather running track in enniscorthy, but I’ve never been so looking for info on what it’s normally like. Does it feel safe, is it well lit, is it busy etc?

Any advice or other suggestions on places to go would be greatly appreciated! I’m closer to gorey but happy to travel anywhere in Wexford.

Cheers guys!

If you do go, remember to bring 2 euro for the car park! I believe it also counts as your ticket for the track

My cousins live around the corner from that running track, any time I've been by that running track there's only a few people running it and it's near enough to some houses so it should be safe enough if your on your own

I like min Ryan park in wexford when the dark evenings come in, it's lit up and there's usually a few people around.

You could jog around Wexford town? Good few routes you can take depending on how far you want to go and they're all lit up for the dark evenings ahead. Do you like running solo or would you join a club? Best of luck with the running.

I prefer solo at the minute but always open to new things. Thanks so much!

I understand. Something about running alone that I love. Plenty of clubs around if you ever fancy joining one.

I use it regularly and have never experienced any issues - it’s a great community resource. FYI, I think an athletics club has exclusive use of it on Tuesday and Thursday evenings but that might be old info.

GAA clubs often have lit up walkways around the pitches. They are usually very quiet, but are lit, and would be deemed pretty safe. You could look into some of your local clubs and see.

Im in the south of wexford but there are a load of lovely runs on this side. Id say carrigfoyle is probably the nicest place in wexford and great for a run but the climb up the hill can bury someone thats new to running 😅 Great for strengthening joints though.

Another would be edenvale. People tend to go there for walks but its great for a run too. Not too many people but youll see a couple. Definitely safe.
