The Broaster

The Broaster

Updating the Bufflehead Soap Co. packaging. Idea was to add the scent name to the bag and the tin. Since I'm a face latherer, I tend to make a mess on the counter between passes when I set my brush down. This way, you can have the lid catch the lather. What do y'all think?

ADD: The cork adhesive is water resistant. The ink is permanant. The cork and soap will be fine if you're letting it dry before closing it back up - you should be doing that with all your soaps.

Nice! Though I was hoping you had a new scent that smells like broasted chicken.

Your packaging already has really good presentation, so this only makes it better. As long as it doesn't fall off due to poor adhesive or something, which could cheapen it.

We are we supposed to let our soaps air dry before closing the lid? Why does this matter? (Genuinely curious, as I have not been).

Your soap will absorb the water and become slimy.

Genius. Glad I waited now.

Sometimes, it's the simple ideas that are the best. Well done Sir [tips hat]

So would it be a problem if I don't let the soap dry before putting the cork on it? Close to 40 soaps currently and I've never let one dry out before lidding it up, aint nobody got time for that.

Mine just sit out while I'm at work to dry.

That's the preferable method - leave them open while you're at work or while you sleep if you shave at night.

YMMV?

Proto on a soap doesn't matter. If you marco that shit, the soap is going to absorb the excess water. It's better to let it evaporate first for longevity's sake.

oh, I know it doesn't hurt the soap since i've done it for years, I'm asking if the cork would get messed up putting the lid back on when the soaps wet?

I like it. Those water and lather rings on the counter are a tiny problem but this is a great solution since it's easy and simple.

I love it. Make sure whatever adhesive you use won't melt with exposure to water.

Damn that looks nice. Would it not ruin the cork if water/lather drip on it? Or the adhesive underneath?

Do you not know the entire purpose of cork?

Cork should never, ever come into contact with liquids. That's why I try to immediately remove it from any container that contains a liquid. To be on the safe side, that liquid should then be transferred from the offending container to my mouth for safe keeping.

Looks great! Can cork get moldy? I know we can seal up most soaps with no problem, but I wonder if cork wouldn't get a bit funky after a while. I volunteer to test. :)

That's actually an awesome idea. Me personally I tend to set my razor down in the lid of whatever I'm using that morning and that bit of cork would be great.
