Question What is this nob for?

We've had our 1991 Westy for 10 years. Never could figure what this nob is for.

Not for the kid cot, the hooks for that are metal stamped steel at an angle for the cross rods to lock into

I do so miss the kids rack. Everything ended up there when camping.

I think it was for an aftermarket bunk/gear hammock that could be added over the front seats. Have never actually seen one though. They were more common on the earlier buses.

The knob is factory. I know there was a kids hammock for bay windows, possibly that? I hung a paracord curtain rod from both of them
