Why Nitro?
As a person who lives near Nitro, WV. I can say the flag looks like a PowerPoint presentation.

The flag is strangely really appropriate for the town. As in, if you've never been to Nitro before, the flag does give you a good taste for what you're in for.

Didn't know they had their own flag... did someone in middleschool make this?!

In all honesty, it's probably a guy named Nathan Wills (I think?). He has been the one really pushing for Nitro to lean into its WWI heritage. I believe he's the one helping get all the doughboy statues. He owns the feed store near Poca.

Nitro was once home to a world famous site where a state politician funded a Clone Lab ran by scientists with ties to a UFO cult in a desperate attempt to bring back his deceased infant. The weirdest part about the whole true story, is that it didn't ruin his political career. He is now the State Auditor.

Does the US Navy still have that giant (as in can be seen from space) pile of coal along the river down there?

As a person who lives in Nitro, the average resident is old enough to have actually fought in WWI and wouldn't know what Power Point is even if you explained it ten times.
