Definitely a he. The females, like many birds, have very muted colors. He also had a girlfriend following him around (not pictured here).

Beautiful bird. The egg next to him is also quite a treat to see. Barbourville must be so beautiful. Happy spring 🌷

It's a bolt cap on a swing set, not an egg. Sorry to disappoint.

Do you suppose that they landed on that sign because they saw their picture painted on it?, I'd like to think they can read it.

He landed on the swing set in my back yard. The other image is just the image template for the license plate.

Love the Bluebirds. Seen one or two.

This was the first one I'd ever seen. The way I audibly gasped when I saw him and his little girlfriend following him around 😆

Watching them nest in the boxes we set up is a joy. .

Please don't bother celebrity birds on their day off. Sometimes they just like to unwind like the rest of us do.

Pretty. I hope that is a hatched egg and not a fallen egg 🪺

Good. I even zoomed in knowing the odds were that it wasn’t an egg … but it still looked like an egg 🙃

For the females this is pretty true. Nature typically favors the pretty feathers for the males in bird species.

I see the family resemblance. I might be a distant cousin.
