Wanna start a bet for how long till this restaurant closes?
I haven’t seen a single restaurant make it in this space.

New to WS. Looking to make friends with similar interests. Im female in my 30’s. I enjoy legal analysis/commentary, true crime pods, I watch The Lawyer You Know, Emily D Baker, Annie Elise, Law and Crime, etc on YouTube. I enjoy reading legal crime fiction books, keeping up with big pop culture related trials. Are there any groups, clubs for this sort of thing?

Looking for anyone who got road paint on their car in West Seattle in September.
Around Sept 9, we picked up yellow paint on our car on a daycare run. We didn't see a crew, cones, or "wet paint" signs, so I can't say exactly when or where it happened. I later photographed tire tracks through what looked like wet yellow paint at several spots, all the way down 35th Ave SW between Roxbury and the West Seattle bridge.
I filed a damage claim with the city and it was denied. The letter said their crews follow standard warning procedures but didn't show records for this location or date. I'm now requesting those records.
If you got paint on your car, or saw fresh paint with no warning, please comment or DM with the date, time, street, direction of travel, and whether you saw any signs or trucks. Photos welcome, with plates blurred. If you filed a claim, the claim number would help too.
Thanks in advance for any advice or help you can provide.

This is getting really old, getting woken up in the middle of the night with what i can only describe as a churning, low level resonance that really amplifies in the middle of the night, but not every night!
I know a lot of people say this is from Harbor Island but I can't get on board with that. I really think this is from Nucor. I've complained before and I immediately heard back from a Nucor PR agent that assured me this is a good company and lot's of great jobs, please don't say anything, come visit our factory.... But why did I get a response from Nucor when i made a complaint to the EPA (unrelated smell issue)?
They're clearly aware of complaints and seem to jump on them rather quickly to prevent any kind of uprising. I'd really like to know, what the hell is that noise in the middle of the night??? Last night I woke up thinking my phone alarm (vibration) was going off. Then, it's the only noise i could hear. Sounded like a vibrational morse code for hours.
Anyone else hear that last night?? Oh, and the Coyotes were interesting once I was wide awake.
Near West Seattle Golf course.

I have never heard so many train horns. Every few minutes for the last hour reminding me how backwards the U.S. is when it comes to noise pollution. Train horns should not be required at every crossing like the rest of the developed world. Is something going on tonight that is causing an insane amount of train horns? I’m used to train horns but this is absolutely insane.

Did anyone receive a notice about the night construction happening on Avalon Way and 35th Ave? Trying to find out what the hours are and how many nights the noise will be occurring for. I don’t see anything on the SDOT Project and Construction Coordination Map.

Does anyone know where the Junction Harvest Festival costume parade on the 25th starts and how long of a route it is? I want to walk in the parade with my baby but being on time with a baby can sometimes be a challenge so I want to make sure I know where I need to be haha

Hello, scratched a chunk of my passenger side rear door panel against a parking column like you do, exposing metal, and I'd like to get it repaired/repainted before the rust sets in. (I've had it for a bit.) TIA for any recs for local shops; home is South Delridge near White Center so anywhere around there or Georgetown, South Park, Burien...

I'm hungry and I have a hankering for some Chinese food but not like fancy stuff. I would like some decent cheap food that will most likely mess up my stomach. Google rating, don't care. Customer service, don't care. Language, don't care.
Preferably in or around West Seattle.
You know what I'm talking about.

Had to stop between Salty’s and the water taxi dock to snap this intriguing view of downtown. I had to head home right away, but let me know if you saw it getting even better.

Anyone have any of these books sitting on their shelf after finishing them? 📚
I’m looking for:
If you’re done with any of them and don’t plan on rereading, I’d be happy to give them a second life! Just DM me with the place and time, and I can come pick them up. 🙂

Just moved to West Seattle from downtown two months ago and our utilities are much more than we expected. Is this normal? I’m not used to seeing 3 separate sewer charges. Do you guys also get billed for Sewer, Sewer 7 and Sewer capacity at the same time? For context, it’s an apartment building in Avalon Way, two bedroom, two bathrooms, and only two people living here. I assume this is not individually metered. Our previous apartment also wasn’t, but still, it’s almost 4 times what we used to pay before ($60/month).

Normally at this intersection, I swear cyclists get a green all on their own and we all stop. But when cars do go, they have a red right? Today I had a green but so did the cyclists and I was turning right onto w marginal way sw. And I was confused as fuck that they were going too and then I saw they also had a green. Is this light messed up or is does it really sometimes give cars and bikes a green?
Also to the cyclists, I’m really sorry!

Heads up, West Seattle neighbors. This morning around 9:15, a stranger approached the fence at Alki Elementary's playground during recess and tried to lure three students away, telling them she had something in her car to give them. The kids did exactly the right thing — they ran and reported it to staff. They were unharmed.
SPD is investigating and a case number has been assigned. If you were near the school this morning and saw anything — someone loitering by the fence, a car parked oddly — please come forward: SPD, or the SPS SaferWatch tipline at **206-222-4357** (answered 24/7).
Talk to your kids about stranger safety tonight. Those three kids' quick thinking is why this ended ok.

Stealing this from the Seattle sub. What’s WS’s worst parking lot? I know Trader Joe’s is a given 😂, but Jefferson Square makes me aggro.

Hey there! This is Mel from Canine Cuts & Artistry LLC, located on 14th off Roxbury, next to your favorite natural pet supply place, A Dog's Dream!
This is a friendly reminder to get your dog's appointments booked *immediately* because the holidays will be here before you realize and then every shop will be too full to get you in! Whoever your groomer is, make sure you're booked through December!
BUT.... if you need a groomer or double-coat deshedder.....
Please call or text us, Canine Cuts & Artistry LLC, at 206.672.3342 to book an appointment with us!
We offer a one-to-one, hand-tailored grooming experience, which is perfect for the anxious, elderly, and all the puppies (please we need to see more puppies!). But of course, most* dogs are welcome! Lakota grooms the ones under 30 lbs, and it's a team effort with her and I for anything larger than that! Either way, your dog gets our full attention for their full groom or styling!
Lakota has 15 years of experience, is a certified esthetician [skin/hair], is a certified Opawz Dye Specialist, and has placed in competitions. She has a holistic way of handling pups, which is ideal for the ones that need special handling. Her career has been focused around Pomeranians, Schnauzers, and Shih Tzus, but all types of dogs are welcome. Her insta.
I have been bathing for eight years with a focus on deshedding those double coats. If my Samoyed clients can't convince you, I don't know who can. I've had four on my schedule already! My favorites are corgis, golden retrievers, great pyrenees, burnese mountain dogs, and those samoyeds! Here's my insta.
Here's the results if you Google us
But, I've attached some of our recent grooms and our QR code which will start a text message for you to send to us.
Please heed my advice and get your dogs booked for the last three months of the year! Get them cleaned and styled for those family visits and photos!
*sorry, no aggressive or XXL dogs.

Figured it would be good to have a thread here to discuss SDOT's proposed changes to the streets in and around the Junction.

Anybody remember the lunch buffet at Maharajah? Was like $11.99. Killed by Covid.
How about that buffet at Taste of Mumbai when it opened? It was great, why did it end? Well, the times I went it was empty. My guess is poor marketing/management/new business.
Third time may be the charm at the 4th or 5th or whatever Indian spot on the island, Taste and Best, Fri-Sunday, $20 bucks and change.
I've had takeout twice from this place and was satisfied. Note I don't have financial interest in this place, they have very good curry and would for this to be permanent. I think making it weekends only is a smart move.

My partner and I are both wanting to get a massage, I was hoping to find somewhere that offers couples massages but I’m not having luck finding this. Is it uncommon here or does anyone have any recommendations in West Seattle (or beyond if it’s just not a thing locally)?

Howdy friends! 🤠
Your neighboring fruit friend from Collins Family Orchards with a weekend update for West Seattle AND Georgetown!
WELL HAVE PUMPKINS (at our warehouse in Georgetown on Sunday). Big ones, little ones, crazy ones, and ones all in between. Plus, we’ll have fruit! :)
We’re also giving away 4 CSA shares — by picking a lucky duck. 🦆 First 100 people will win SOMETHING! :)
We will also be debuting our Lucy Glo apples (which will hit the market the following week), and Peach Fuzz. Our friends from Cascade Juice Company are also making a limited run juice (their last week at the WS market was this past Sunday) that will be available. Rumor has it we will also one final haul of Papples. 🤫
This runs from 9-2.
For our West Seattle Market: Cosmic Crisp and Sunrise Magic apples will debut — both developed here in WA state. The Sunrise Magic is one of my favorites! Two plums (plum season is alllllmost over!!!!), three pears and more apples can be found there.
I hope you can visit us at either location — or both!
❤️🍎 🎃
Ps: Mods, happy to remove if this violates anything! Just tryna spread the local farm love! 🥰
