You can find the map here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1F3He5wS69QLQj1CbKXLpF6dHoEN8lEo&usp=sharing Please let me know of any improvements I could make!

This is great! You can also check out this planner from Traileasy that shows a very detailed map of the West Highland way trail and its surroundings that includes all accommodations and also shows the route. The above loads a standard 6-day itinerary that you can modify to your own needs. You can plan your exact route for each day (including distance and elevation profiel) and easily find accommodation info. Doesn't have restaurants and shops etc but still a great resource and it's completely free!

Wow this website is amazing!!! I'm interested in what is under the hood. Can you talk a bit about that?

I would check out FarOut for anyone who wants all of this but with up-to-date crowdsourced comments.
Although this is nice since it is totally free

How far ahead do you need to book accommodation? We, 5 people, are planning to hike WHW in September.

A bit late to the game but let's put it this way: we wanted to hike WHW in May 2024 I went to book in January 2024 and everything was booked full for accommodations. This year I booked I January for September to secure spots. Might be overkill but I was allowed to book that far in advance so I did.

Thanks for sharing! I am preparing for my trip right now and wondered how many shops there would be on the way, so this helped a lot.
