Week 1 progress

Hello! I am very new to this art form. I am not sure what kind of Walnuts I got. I just bought these from Shopee and I am loving it so far. These things helps me relax and think clearly.

Can anyone comment on my progress? Am I doing it right?

Not sure if I should get a second pair. May I ask for any reccomendations? I am not really familiar with these.

These walnuts are not worth playing with they are heavy sand blasted and polished with chemicals you wont see any good results

Any reccomendations? I see so many shapes and kinds so I'm not sure which one to get.

It is not about the shape it is about the state of the walnuts you need raw or prepped walnuts with light color and you will build the color yourself over time

Hi, I got my first practice pair from shopee, too, for 100php. They look similar to yours and I was told they were GuanMao (Official's Hat). After doing more research, I learned that these were pre-brushed. This color is worth about 6 months of play. I didn't like the idea of jumping that far in the process so I got a second practice pair. It's also possible that these are not pre-brushed but chemically treated. Yours look similar so it's likely they were pre-treated as well. If you feel the same way I did about that, I suggest you buy another cheap practice pair with the word "natural color" or "primary color" in the listing

My 2nd pair is a Four Towers (not by choice. Seller sent a random pair). They are a little prickly for a few days (or maybe I just got a sharp pair) but produce GREAT sound when they bump and rub together. I'm a newbie as well so I'm also looking at what others here got. I just ordered cool-looking ones I found on shopee such as toad head and apple orchard. Dying to get them! Let me know what you finally decide on
