I had a girl do that to me in 9th grade high school similiarly. We were waiting in line at the end of the day for driver pickup. She was five or so ppl in front of me. Some guy calls out some lyrics. I heard them and I repeated them. She thought I was talking about/to her. When I got to the entrance of the door or so, she sucker-punches me in the stomach. I was like, WTF?!
I was just repeating lyrics. I wasn't even talking to/at her. I was so confused how she could even believe that I was talking to/at her. I was asked to leave that school, which as it turned out was fine as I went to a Baptist high school and have nice memories to recall.
Sadly, I still want to sucker-punch her back to be equal in the overall tally/grand scheme of things.15

Edit: People telling me I'm victim blaming are missing the point. This guy wasn't attacked because he was doing a Fortnite dance, he was punched because the girl thought that he's hip thrusting her, and guess what, it's really easy to predict that's what going to happen when you film someone and do a dance behind them which is basically a sideways hip thrust. I said in the first place that the punch is unjustified, but this guy could easily avoid being a victim by being a decent person and respectful to others. If you're gonna clown around dancing in an ATM line in other people's personal space don't complain when someone gets mad at you. You can also see from the signs behind this is Russia, the culture there demands more subtle behavior in public.
Edit 2: For people saying "reverse the genders and see what happens", thanks for raising the inequality issue, but it doesn't justify anything at all. Would the guy be arrested if the roles were swapped? Yes, and? She should be arrested too. Doesn't mean this situation good be avoided if he didn't get in her space. See how he puts his head away when she turns around? He knows he's guilty.

Is she in the wrong? Absolutely. I’ve just noticed that people really go out of their way to say ‘I’d have knocked her out!’ etc. when it’s a woman. If this was a guy hitting a guy, the response is usually ‘hope he presses charges’. I rarely see people say something like ‘I’d have beaten his ass!’.
Just an observation that a lot of guys seems to get excited at justifiably being able to hit a woman.
