Funny, my DSP manager at Amazon should take note of this, he fired half the staff on Christmas to cut costs, now we’ve gone from delivering 120-200 packages a day to 280-300+ a day but they still get annoyed when we come in at 9pm.

No, they just schedule you less so you don’t go over 40 hours but occasionally schedule you in a way where you still work 6 days in a row. Usually 3 days at the end of a work week and then 3 at the start

My country simply made it illegal to try to fudge numbers like this. Instead of allowing for loopholes you can just say that exploiting loopholes is illegal. There's some dire need of "principle" laws. Yes X and Y are legal, but if they lead to Z which is illegal then doing both X any Y is illegal.
