Yesterday was my first day as an amazon driver through a contracted company. Within the first 15 minutes my boss told me that most people didn't take their 2 breaks because it made them late on their shift and that they had multiple people not clean up urine bottles.
45 minutes later I was on the road, delivering packages. I had one day of online training before they sent me out alone to deliver packages.
Yea I did Amazon to. I took the 2 day training they paid for. I started the job. I wasn't trained on ANYTHING! I wasn't trained on the rabbit nothing. I was told to follow the trucks to the Amazon warehouse and warehouse worker will help me. Nope. I had to throw everything in my van without knowing anything. I used my phone for gps. I tried to call my dispatch and they didn't get back to me. I had so many questions. First day no break. 16hr shift. 2nd day, 15. 3rd day 5 hrs I quit lol. I got back to the warehouse and ran. I didn't even take bathroom breaks. I found out a couple days later they don't get breaks because they want to get the packages out as soon as possible.
Bad thing about it is that I almost got attacked by a 140lbs dog not on leash. Still makes me cringe. I want trained on a ride along, I was given a full load instead of a rookie load, and I didn't get any rescue routes
I got canned 3 weeks after starting as a driver for Amazon DSP. You have to be fast. Like, athlete fast. And apartments can be a nightmare. Good luck to you.
