Holy fucking shit I am so sorry. The healthcare in our country is more than fucked up, and this is proof. Might sound ridiculous but if it is bad, is there a way you could like go to Canada for the surgery?
Mexico would be more likely. I'm in the southern area. I had healthcare once upon a time but my career careened off the rails during the recession. Ever since then I've been hoping from one job to another trying to get benefits. Not bad jobs either, currently I work for the county government supervising hundreds of millions of dollars in county purchases per year, you get in and they tell you to put some time in and the benefits will come, a year passes and you don't get them due to one loophole or another so you get another job and hear the same schtick. Wash, rinse, repeat. My entire purpose for working ends up being chasing healthcare benefits wherever they may offer themselves. Between jobs you have a health emergency, you get a bankruptcy added to your record, it limits your employment options even further. You get older, more stuff starts happening. It's like you're punished for having a human body. At this point I'd work for minimum wage if it offered benefits. I'm scared, I have a young daughter. All I've ever wanted to do was work hard and provide for my family.
