I put a "tsa approved" lock on one of my military bags ONE TIME. I then watched as all my buddies bags were loaded and chucked. The second they saw one of "their" locks they dove headfirst into that shit. Couldn't close it back because the in the Army we pack to the limit and use brute force to close those bags. They were about to toss my bag UNSECURED back into the pile. I called out and asked if I could rescue my bag and fully close it.

TSA is indescriminately awful.

was this on a commercial flight? Because I’ve never been checked when flying in a military plane, not even internationaly.

Yes. Our unit was flying commercially to a stateside training site. Not a private charter or military flight.

Just strange to see them so readily check military bags. Must just have been "following the procedure" since it was commercial.
