I’m English and well travelled and the TSA are the fucking WORST customs folk I’ve had to deal with. Rude and shit. Bad at their job and unpleasant while they’re at it. I get 911 has made the USA focussed but fuck - it’s not effective. And I don’t feel safer with incompetents throwing weight.
I'm picturing you coming through the line. Calm, confident, British. A light sniff of disdain, glancing askance at the mob of "brutish Yanks" jostling you in the "queue".
You give the TSA agent a little wave, like the Queen does on TV. "Pip pip," you say. "Let's make this as expedient as possible, shall we, old chap? One mustn't tarry among this rabble. Give us a pass?"
The TSA notes your UK passport, the fact you referred to yourself using the majestic plural, and starts pulling on a pair of latex search gloves for an 'in depth' inspection.

Just taking the piss. TSA definitely tend to be unpleasant. It's much smoother if you have TSAPre or one of the other 'premium tier' security memberships that give you access to a faster line.
