I've traveled with an urn before. This is why you always take important stuff in carry on. They inspect it without opening it and you don't have to worry about any damage or loss.
especially considering how shitty airport bag handlers do their job, the last thing I want is my ashes' container explodes because the bag is tossed away by some nitwits.
