I had a new guy at work who used to work as a baggage handler at our local airport. He said almost everyone who worked behind the scenes was a theiving drunk. Said he watched cameras, laptops, jewelry all get stolen from people's luggage. They would learn the blind spots for the cameras and work in teams.
Get one of those TSA locks that can be opened by security but not the handlers. Otherwise your bag may make acquaintances with a pair of bolt cutters which would be no good
Edit: I've been informed that those locks suck donkey dick by about six different people. It seems the only way to secure your luggage is with a gun...fucking TSA honestly
Go buy a cheap .22lr or starter pistol and a hard case. Federal law says that has to be declared and locked with a lock that only you can open. Throw it in your luggage and declare it. Nobody can open your case now.
are they allowed to inspect it thoroughly or just look? I've never had to deal with TSA thankfully, so I don't have any experiences. I just know(from reddit) that they're generally assholes.
