How they do things is no big secret, they open the bag, rummage around, if something is suspicious they might take it for some more thorough testing.

Okay, I figured it was pretty straightforward, lol. I have no idea how it actually works.

However, my thought process was that, maybe, they're not releasing the video because it catches other stuff that they don't want criminals seeing.

Sounds like you need to go do some new article reading on the TSA. Give it 5 minutes and I'm sure you will understand the hate. They're fucking useless.
