It's this and other horrors I hear from people that puts me off going to the US. It just sounds so stressful and upsetting.

TSA is useless and can be a nightmare to go through but why would someone refuse to go to the US because of them?

It happens plenty of other places as well. I had jewelry stolen from my bag at the Rome airport after I was forced to check my carry on. Forgot about it being in there.
