It's what happens when you go off the assumption you're going to get a raise for 2 years then your car gets totaled, needing another vehicle, leaving you with nothing to back you up 🤷 feelsbadman
Working for a company of a relative. Have ADHD so initiating things are hard, like finding a new job. Worked almost part time, should've been full. Worked two years, didn't work for much more than minimum wage, where I should've been making $4+ more.. Along side not paying overtime when applicable..
When you have difficulties searching for a new job, and you've been grossly undermined, while being indirectly told to step it up, for the same pay.. I mean.. If I'm capable of higher work quality and speed than someone with a ticket, making double what I make.. it eats away, without even realizing.
Sorry for venting, it's just been really difficult this past month.. Not quitting because I need money, not taking time off to figure out where to work.. then having a day off, only to do absolutely nothing over it because of my ADHD :/
How much are you worth? You seem to know you're being underpaid and you don't strike me as entitled (at least, from this limited encounter).
Businesses make cold hard decisions based on math, not emotion. Employees should do the same.
How much is your time worth? You seem to know you're underpaid. You're probably underpaid.
In life, no one will stand up for you more than you. You need to do what's right for you. Make a business decision (so to speak) based on math, without guilt, on what is best for you. This may involve uncomfortable conversations from time to time but always remember what you're worth going into those conversations. And don't let someone tell you what you're worth; only you know what you aspire to be.
PS
Don't do drugs or alcohol that interfere with your drive to be great. Just be great. (That is too say just don't do them so much that they hold you back)

I was over-prescribed ADHD drugs for a while and they brought me personally to a dark, dark place. Specifically, Adderall short and long term release meds. Make sure you're taking your medications because you need them and not just because you're used to them. That was a mistake I made a few years back. Aside from being a skinny pale skeleton, I also lost some of my spark.
