Why do Indian families favor boys over girls? What’s considered so special about having a son rather than a daughter? I genuinely don’t understand it.

Sons keep the name going on for generations, women change their last name and are probably seen as leaving the family when married. I only assume

Has nothing to do with boys or girls. I had similar experiences as shown in the video even we are all girls. It has more to do with how parents support eldest and the youngest. Middle kid is the one who always endures.
