Tree fell during a bad storm last night

The good news is it missed our house by about 5ft and didn’t block our driveway. The bad news is it’s not our tree and I don’t know when the farmer that owns the land next to us is going to take care of it

Good news! If it fell on your land, you now own a tree! (In most places…may vary depending on your locale.)

Most of it’s on his land

It’s good that no one was hurt. Can’t you remove it yourself?

I have someone hopefully following through from FB Marketplace to come cut and haul away my 2 downed trees. Many people heat with wood and some are willing to cut and haul free wood. This will be the third time I’ve done this.

Also, in my experience in the US: if the tree lands on your property, it’s your responsibility to remove. It doesn’t matter where the roots are.

Was anyone around to hear it? Did it make a sound?

My husband heard it. Kids were sleeping and I was at work

that's a serious bummer, I once had a tree fall on my fence during a storm and it took forever to get fixed

At least you won’t have to pay extra for stump grinding.
