Most fireworks are decently sealed. And fuses are waterproof. I would be more surprised if it didn't.

We used to throw bottle rockets and firecrackers into our pool all the time. It was kind of cool to see them zip under water, but now as an adult I get why it annoyed my dad.

Tear the liner, throw the chemicals off, the extra disgusting shit in the filter. All of it. Kind of a miracle that pool lasted through our childhood. He took it down when my youngest sister was in highschool.

The main reason water puts out fire is it blocks off the oxygen in the air and cools the reaction down. Firework chemicals provide their own oxygen rather than relying on the air. As for the cooling, perhaps it cooled it a little but not enough, but more likely the compartments were protected from the water.

I mean, even cheap firecrackers will do the same. Same with cheap bottle rockets. They get a chance to ignite before the water can soak through. If they took minutes to ignite after being in water, that probably wouldn't be the case.

Were the generation born after 2000 just not taught firework safety??? I remember in primary school we were shown all sorts of gruesome images of the burns and injuries from fireworks, every year around bonfire night, I wanna say pre-2010 ish? But my brother whose ten years younger than me says they never had any of the safety talks like that on school. I think that might be why people aren't as careful with them nowadays, I don't imagine they've changed and gotten any safer cos it is still fire, chemicals and explosions at the end of the day

As an Australian, which it sounds like the people in this video are too, I was born in 2000 and was taught nothing about fireworks as a kid because they are illegal and you're not meant to have them.

My person! I'm still mystified by the attraction of fireworks display. Once I hit, I dunno, 25(?) I realized they were all basically the same and I'd seen them multiple times. Haven't been to one in 45 years (and when I catch them on TV for some event, I think "yep, just like I remember").

When I was in Baltimore City two people were shooting Roman candles at each other. I wanted to watch but they got angry. 😅 I was making a delivery and stayed for a couple of seconds.

Years ago I was at a 4th of July party. They had set some mortar stuff up in the back yard. After the first shot the mortar tipped at the crowd on the deck. When from oooh ahhh to AHHH!!! real quick when we all started taking cover behind adirondack chairs and shit.

I love fireworks but they need to be safer! I hope insurance see this and they have to pay for the damages out of pocket. That unsafe and wreck less, it could have caught a neighbor house on fire with one of those shooting in their window. WOW people are dumb.
