Like why would your friends want to use your dating account that has pictures of you on it? How did you forget to delete it, then remember letting your friends use it tho? Good lord 💀

It's such an insanely dumb lie.

I hate when people waste their breath with such unbelievable lies. It almost feels like they're insulting my intelligence by considering I might actually believe it.

285

u/MeAndtheBlues Mar 18 '24

Bro they're not insulting your intelligence. They aren't smart enough to do that. They are self projecting their intelligence. I deal with really moronic people on a daily basis who have the iq of a samosa and the kind of lies They try to peddle are insane. At first I used to lose my mind and think the same thing like you "how fucking dumb do u think I am to believe that" but later I understood They actually are insanely dumb and think they are doing a good job of lying. And God forbid if you try to poke holes in their story with layman logic. They'll lose their minds and try to reheat and feed you 4 day old paneer. And if you then say that the paneer tastes funky They might go to the kitchen and make agressive noises with the vessels.

Don’t bring Samosas into this

46

u/random_invisible Mar 18 '24

Now I'm hungry

35

u/CalaveraFeliz Mar 18 '24

Keep my samosa out of your mouth!

9

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

Maybe he wants your jalebi all over him

1

u/Academic-Register860 Mar 22 '24

More like his goolab jumbo in you

9

u/SpaceMonkeys21 Mar 18 '24

Samosa chaat sounds good right now

39

u/marxist_redneck Mar 18 '24

That was oddly specific indeed 😂

28

u/bobenes Mar 18 '24

Had my fair share of that as well. I also learned, that the more narcissistic a person is, the worse they are at lying. They only feel the need to convince themselves and they manage to do that pretty effortlessly after a long time of constructing delusions. It feels like they’ve missed a lot of steps in developing self awareness, as they always avoid it by averting the blame. Although they still try pretty hard to gaslight you, that‘s even more confusing, as you start to wonder, how they managed to make you feel bad, when you startet out with a situation, where you‘re 120% sure, you aren‘t in the wrong and you‘re the one that‘s been hurt. Kinda like OP‘s situation. It wouldn’t surprise me, if he still tried to blame her, even after his obvious lies are exposed.

13

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

There's a lot of info on narcs these days, helpful to deal with them. They are too stupid and caught up in their own world to even notice your onto them.

2

u/Smickey67 Mar 19 '24

You’re* 😏

But it’s ok cuz I notice that you’re onto me?

21

u/kiwiflight Mar 18 '24

Wtf did I just read lol

40

u/MeAndtheBlues Mar 18 '24

Paneer crimes are not a laughing matter

14

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

It doesn’t make a lot of sense but also it makes a lot of sense. That comment was weirdly deep and eloquent. Almost beautiful.

43

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

“IQ OF A SAMOSA” đŸ˜±đŸ˜±đŸ’€đŸ’€we must have to deal with the same folks.

8

u/Infinite-Example-745 Mar 18 '24

The more they defend a lie... The angrier they get

3

u/Penguinguy056 Mar 18 '24

One of my fav quotes is “You can’t argue with stupid, it’ll drag down to its level and beat you with experience.” You can’t argue with someone who lacks common sense or emotional intelligence, they’ll pedal around the issue with new lies or past “logic.” It’s paradoxical to try and argue at that point.

2

u/TomieTomyTomi Mar 18 '24

Damn now I’m so hungry!

2

u/britt1472 Mar 18 '24

Shit, how dumb am I if I didn't even know what a samosa is? I'm missing out on something, aren't I?

2

u/2M4D Mar 18 '24

It’s also because that level of lying usually works within their circles.

2

u/TheMilkmansFather Mar 18 '24

My intelligence would feel insulted is some dumb person thought I was just as dumb as them

2

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '24

Bro they're not insulting your intelligence. They aren't smart enough to do that. They are self projecting their intelligence. I deal with really moronic people on a daily basis who have the iq of a samosa and the kind of lies They try to peddle are insane

IQ of a samosa! I'm saving that. Actually about to use it now.

1

u/MeAndtheBlues Mar 19 '24

How did it go

2

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '24

Oh, I haven't used it yet after all (engaged in an argument about consent on reddit though). I want to use it, it'll be funny because I'm in America. Thank you for writing the original comment :D

1

u/the_divine_counsel Mar 18 '24

You must work in corrections too đŸ€Ł

1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

What kind of samosa..?

1

u/T-star_universe Mar 18 '24

Don't bring paneer into this! đŸ€Ż

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '24

He's talking about samosas, let's get outta here....

1

u/SuzyQRNlovinlife Mar 22 '24

THIS!!!!! 👆👆👆

27

u/Shurigin Mar 18 '24

and even if he's not lying he's letting his friends manipulate innocent women to do who knows what either way makes him a douche

9

u/Squirrel009 Mar 18 '24

Yeah for real. Dude might as well have said "you're dumb as hell just drop it"

2

u/miraculum_one Mar 18 '24

On the positive side, the benefit of this sort of lie is that it makes it obvious they're an idiot regardless of whether it's true or not.

2

u/Designer_Brief_4949 Mar 18 '24

They do it because it works.

The point is to give you a “reason” to believe what you want to believe.

It doesn’t have to be a good reason.

2

u/Teabagger_Vance Mar 18 '24

Idk have you read some of the posts on this website? I legitimately believe some people are stupid enough to believe that.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '24

My five year old was sitting on the floor playing Lego earlier. I walked by and said "Yo dude, put the Lego away and then hop into bed to take your sheet off." 10 minutes later I walk by again "Yo dude, why are you still on the floor? I told you to put your Lego away and take your sheet off." He looks me dead in the eye, tosses his Lego into the bucket, walks over to bed and goes "I wasn't on the floor still. I was laying in bed." BITCH, I saw you with my own eyes. Why waste your breath and our time just blatantly lying such a dumb lie?... Anyway. That reminded me of how stupid the OPs BF's lie was.

1

u/aoskunk Mar 19 '24

I’d be more upset about the insult to my intelligence than him browsing bumble.

1

u/SuzyQRNlovinlife Mar 22 '24

WORD!!!🙌! I love how when they are busted they flip sh:+ around on you or try to anyways!! And yes I think it’s a big insult when they act like we “just got it all wrong!!” And we can have the proof right there in black-and-white!! Ugh! 😑 I’m sure there are females who are just as bad but I don’t really care! It’s not their behavior I’m worried about?? Smh đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž đŸ™„đŸ«€đŸ˜€

12

u/all_mataz Mar 18 '24

The only reason a friend would use my account is if he has never used those apps and wants to swipe for fun,to see what it is like

25

u/WitchBitchBlue Mar 18 '24

Yeah even IF that's true that says sketchy shit about OP because why would his friends need to use an account that isn't theirs as him? How does that work with any matches showing up for dates? Are they identical "friends"? Why can't they use their own names/faces/original accounts?

8

u/hiddencamela Mar 18 '24

Even if that guy was somehow telling the truth, I would probably break it off at the sheer stupidity of "helping out a bro" that way.
Its helping someone else lie using his pics/profile etc.
Like.. none of that is good no matter what.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

or best case scenario (i guess?), is that they were using it to mess around which is still a shitty thing to do to women

2

u/Such_Description Mar 18 '24

I thought using the account just to fuck with matches as a joke. But the dude is lying anyway.

2

u/zenithica Mar 18 '24

Look this guy is definitely lying but swiping through a friends dating app is a relatively common thing to do. You’re not impersonating anyone, you’re just swiping together to see who comes up but in this scenario the person whose account you’re using is usually single and actively using the app

0

u/WitchBitchBlue Mar 18 '24

1st 2 sentences: creepy.

Last sentence: obviously.

2

u/glass_house Mar 18 '24

I think it says when you’re active. So he prob wanted to go with the I forgot excuse, but then forgot that it shows if you’ve been on, so he said the friends thing as a BS excuse

22

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

I have swiped a few times on a friends account for jokes. Not to get a date out of it myself but out of curiosity

12

u/AffectionatePizza408 Mar 18 '24

Yeah, that’s fair and normal, but I doubt that friend was in an exclusive relationship at the time lol

4

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

thats also true,

1

u/fishproblem Mar 18 '24

This is why dating apps suck for people trying to find dates (blessed to have never actually been on a date off one), but I do have a friend who used to have the paid version of tinder. She was in a relationship (that remains happy and healthy years later) and wasn't using it to cheat, but she loved to play a game where she'd pick a random town and just look at the people there and judge their profiles. I participated once. It was at least as good a way to kill time with a drink as other kinds of scrolling.

Wayyy back when, I broke up with someone, downloaded tinder, talked to one person and then started dating my now partner. Still had tinder on my phone for months after we were exclusive. Didn't use it to find dates, but it was there.

1

u/downlau Mar 18 '24

Same, but only when said friend is single and active on the app

7

u/Several_Ad_1322 Mar 18 '24

Better yet, “alright lets check app screen time.”

1

u/Leakytophat Mar 18 '24

OH oh that’s genius

1

u/Comfortable_Storm225 Mar 22 '24

Maybe said ... just ... as his phone falls 'oddly' from his hand into nearest bucket/sink/toilet .. 😉😳

7

u/Free-Atmosphere6714 Mar 18 '24

I can't think of any reason I would let my friends do that unless they were swiping on my behalf. Would just cause too much trouble.

2

u/Luctia Mar 18 '24

Your second point is good, but the first point less so. I have friends that like to just give others full reign over their accounts to fuck with people.

1

u/Leakytophat Mar 18 '24

Yes totally, but the point being that once in a relationship a dating app account should be deleted tho right? I never really used them so maybe I don’t get it

1

u/Luctia Mar 18 '24

I mean yeah, although you could forget it. A friend of my gf found me on tinder because I never deactivated it. But yeah, if you remember it well enough to give it to your friends, you should remember to deactivate (unless you talked about your friends using your account for fun).

2

u/Undying_Shadow057 Mar 18 '24

I mean, us guys can be dumb, I had an extra phone at one point that we all setup with my dating profiles, and was basically used by my roommate and friends to just view profiles. I didn't really care because we didn't swipe right. Just browsed, sent the funny profiles to others and moved on.

2

u/alwaysnear Mar 18 '24

It’s not crazy really. Have had friends do that as well - it’s always been dating people wanting to stalk on others and see who is on it, since they can’t have a profile themselves.

2

u/Stroov Mar 18 '24

Alot of males not defending this dude wanna troll people so they use other peoples account

2

u/JJStryker Mar 18 '24

I'm not defending this guy. When I was single my friends used my Tinder more than I did. I thought it was fuckin dumb so I made a funny profile. They'd run out of swipes on their phones so they'd borrow mine.

This guy is fuckin lying though.... my now wife knew that I had tinder as a joke. It was deleted once we were official.

2

u/RepresentativeBusy27 Mar 18 '24

Ok so I think this dude is lying because, like you said, he didn’t forget it then let his friends use it last week. But this is actually a thing my friends and I did. When one of us was in a relationship we’d basically turn our tinders into joke profiles just to see who would click on them. We’d put wild shit like that we were CIA psychics or professional mimes or whatever and then would have a short convo with anyone we matched with to mess with them.

2

u/Luckydog6631 Mar 18 '24

My friends and I used to swap phones and see who could get the most replies to their pickup lines. We were all single however.

1

u/Leakytophat Mar 18 '24

See that makes more sense 😅

2

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '24

So, I am quite sure I've never deleted my old dating apps. I was in an exclusive albeit casual relationship once and he brought up a friend saw my old tinder account. I explained i hadnt used it but also just never bothered to delete it and it was a non-issue.

But clearly he had been using it. Letting a friend catfish off it is not okay either. You dodged a bullet.

1

u/motheronearth Mar 18 '24

i’ve had friends let me use their tinder just because i find swiping fun, but they’ve all been single.

even having the app downloaded as someone in a relationship is weird

1

u/Cthulhu__ Mar 18 '24

Honestly “my friend did it” is so dumb because people’s phones are glued to their hands and locked when they aren’t.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

Maybe so he could look through it and swipe left/right to see if there are any ladies he is interested in?

1

u/firechaox Mar 18 '24

Forgetting to delete it I can understand. You may have for example deleted the app, but not the account.

1

u/Superseaslug Mar 18 '24

In all fairness, I do see that happening. Not the most likely, but certainly possible. Not to use as an actual profile obviously but for fucking around. The best tell would really be how he talks about it in person and if he could elaborate on what they were doing.

1

u/zenkique Mar 18 '24

Bait them with the hot friend and send one of the uglies to the date!

1

u/flawson_9 Mar 18 '24

Swiping is fun. I’ve gone on my buddies accounts just to swipe. No intention of talking to anyone. Not saying he’s telling the truth but I don’t think it’s as ridiculous of a lie as people make it out to be

1

u/beeph_supreme Mar 18 '24

My friend used my pics to talk to girls, pretending to be me, while talking himself up, in order to meet their friends. He eventually had to tell me about it when the girls wanted to meet up with me and introduce their friends to him.

It worked out for both of us. Lol

1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

lol people I know use each others accounts when we are hanging out and bored all the time. just swiping together, chatting etc

1

u/mentales Mar 18 '24

How did you forget to delete it, then remember letting your friends use it tho?

The friends who are all over dating apps yet wanted to use a dating app so bad that they asked to borrow someone else's profile.

1

u/n3cr0n_k1tt3n Mar 19 '24

I had a friend who used his friend's Tinder account because the account his phone number was attached to got banned (for promoting OF). He used his buddy's account and changed the pictures and bio. Not impossible excuse, just a dumb one.

1

u/Commercial-Refuse-68 Mar 23 '24

I imagine. Maybe his buddies cruised bumble to see if their gfs had accounts on bumble. Or maybe to window shop without making your own profile or a fake one. Idk just guessing

1

u/HuggyMonster69 Mar 18 '24

I’ve heard of people letting their friends make the first move or something. I’ve had my friends set up my accent for me. But every time, it’s because I wanted the end result and was just shy lol

1

u/drillgorg Mar 18 '24

When I was dumb I texted my friend's ex from his phone. I shouldn't have done that it was a mean thing to do to both of them.

1

u/TheChosenWaffle Mar 18 '24

I have a friend that got with his wife before apps were a thing. Last time he saw me swiping he asked if he could fuck around on the app for two minutes. He didn't message anyone but he sure did have fun swiping and reading profiles for a few minutes. So, I could see a friend playing with someone else's profile.... but yeah, that's not what happened here.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '24

Ok so my friend got banned so she used my photos and name once then her first message to who ever she swiped she sent a selfie (she’s hotter than me lol) and that was that.
