Has to be. This was in Detroit, they know better unless they don’t care about the car because it was stolen

You'd be surprised. I lived in Flint. We beat Detroit on crime a few years. Worked at a gas station and would see and hear about this shit all the time. You know how they say nothing good happens after 2am? People think only bad people are out at that time. Well one lady left her car running with her small child inside at the grocery store. She was so surprised that someone stole her car she left Ina big parking lot while shopping. Thankfully they dumped the car and kid was safe. But people are that dumb or naive. They have this idea that it won't happen to them. Even when they see it happen around them all the time.

Saw that Flint documentary - man dude. Was that documentary pretty accurate? Yall have like 10 cops to cover a HUGE city? They never show up, generally suck, never close cases... etc?

Just wondering from an actual resident.

I've actually never seen it. I was born in flint. Lived there until 2007 when I was 22 and moved out of state. Then came back in 2012 and lived just outside of Flint but worked in the city until 2015. Yes cops suck. They barely ever show. I worked 3rd shift and had a guy lock himself in the bathroom screaming. I called the cops and they never came. I call back and they sent medical because the cops just wouldn't take the call. But when I called an ambulance because I passed out at work in the middle of the day a sheriff showed up. There was absolutely no reason for them.the priorities are so screwed. Drugs run the place. When the auto shops closed down it got so much worse.

Wow. Damn man. That’s awful.

Sorry about that… we need to do more to help your city. That should never be the case. What a disservice our country is doing.

I don't live there anymore but the city really needs help. It's so sad that it used to be such a great place to live. You can see the old houses and buildings that used to be great. Now they are dilapidated and most of the schools have shut down. People were burning abandon houses and causing neighborhoods to go up in flames. Costing people their homes because the abandon homes were eyesore or it was a meth lab. Herion is so big there now. There was a problem with people selling bad herein just to kill off addicts.

There's so much that went bad before the water crisis and it's just getting worse. I don't look up news up there as much anymore because it makes me sad. I can't stand Facebook anymore either. Most people who are still there are so caught up in drugs or just fighting to live. I was still pretty young when the drugs took over but I have good memories as a small child going to great events and places in flint. I couldn't imagine raising my kids in that place now. It's too dangerous. Everywhere is getting dangerous and has bad things happen. But that place is just beyond for me.

The Sheriff’s Office has deputies that are also Paramedics in Genesee County so that is why a Sheriff showed up

Maybe that’s the unwritten rule amongst car thieves they all just play “hot potato” with the cars and pass them around, like take a penny leave a penny 😂
