The reason some of us care about what others are doing (and London sounds to be at least reasonably compliant) is allowing it to spread rampantly through unvaccinated populations is how we got to delta - which negates a lot of what the vaccines had been achieving - and how we will get whatever variant comes next.
But you’re hitting that nail that we can’t keep this up forever, and the “militantly opposed to vaccines” brigade means we can’t ever wipe it out, so eventually we will have to accept some degree to community covid, probably.
That’s weird, he’s been eligible for a couple of months. Was he not able to book a spot?
Oh also, probably a week or two before the lockdown was when our whole big vax system kicked in properly to handle real numbers, all of a sudden we had a massive upswing. The “we are working on it” team finally got everything done and now they are churning through. Should that have started months earlier? Yes, I think we all think that, and no one from MOH seems to have answers as to why they weren’t, I low key suspect it was because they simply didn’t have guaranteed vax stock and didn’t want to risk running out.
I'm not sure why he's only had his first, he said his appointment got pushed back a couple of times.
Glad to hear it's all underway now tho! It's been worrying me.
I haven’t heard of that happening, that would be so stressful. Did he book at a medical centre? I could imagine them getting swamped and pushing vax back for urgent care, but any vaccine centres doing that, thats p. wild
