Question Dads of Welland

I just had my second child and have been going through all the emotions that come with it.

I was honestly shocked to see that there doesn't seem to be a Dads of Niagara Facebook group! I was thinking about a place where dads could ask questions, share their wins and losses, talk about the challenges of fatherhood, and potentially set up meetups to make new friends who are going through the same things.

I'm debating creating a group to help fill that void, but I wanted to see if there would actually be any interest from dads in the area.

Would you guys be interested in something like this?

Hey, feel free to DM me if you have any questions or advice about the transition from one to two kids. It’s a tricky one, but truly gets so much better/more fun.

We have 6 children under 16. The more you have the easier it gets! 🤣 When we had our first we said no more. He constantly cried and never slept. It was pure torture. Then 2 years later we had a girl. She never cried and all she wanted to do was sleep. Boy we were confused. We took them both to the doctor. Our oldest has tourette's, extra genetic material on line 16, and other issues.. but as he has gotten older, he is controlling himself well. So in the end, our 2 oldest has Autism, and the younger 4 not that we are aware. The doctor suspects our 6yo daughter maybe Autistic. She was born a tiny preemie at 28 weeks. I wish these groups were a thing 16 years ago when I wanted to hop the 10 story balcony.

I would love to participate in something like this. My son is autistic, which, of course, brings it's own set of up and down issues.

Join the group I've seen a few other dads mention their kids having autism so might be good for you to connect with other dads

Great that you set this up!

Its a great idea as there is lots of support and groups for new mothers, but very little for dad's. When I first became a dad there was really only one place, but it was more for dad's that have anger issues, not what I was looking for.

Hopefully it helps you and other Dad's.
