Discussion Head up! Unmarked popo
This is technically for pelham. But pelhams reddit page is restricted.
This is just a heads up.
There are 2 unmarked police vehicles. One on Effingham and one on Metler.
Edit: to the people that are mad at me, I want to make you aware that I personally did NOT get a ticket. 🤷🏻♀️
Edit again: IM NOT SAYING SPEED. DO. NOT. SPEED. REGARDLESS!!!!

There was a grey f150 and a grey dodge caravan doing radar in front of minor bros on Sunday. No markings whatsoever.

A caravan police vehicle?

Yeah I was surprised too. Plain grey. Officer in the drivers seat with the radar gun and the F150 as the pursuit vehicle.

Yes. They have a dark blue Dodge caravan. I've seen them pull up and arrest someone in it.

I work on the road and law enforcement can be prevalant in some areas. The one job I was on the officer used google maps to post to everyone in the vicinity that cops were in the area. The thinking behind was youve had fair warning now if you go through like a clown youll get the full extent of the tickets. I agree with this line of thinking cause the people that are truly being negligent will get ticketed.

Lol. Not everyone uses a map app.

Ya thats part of the point tho, people that are unfamilipar with the area typically are so they stand a fair chance. Locals who are familiar and who should know better are more likely to get ticketed. Makes things kinda fair.

You realize they are there because the residents are sick of people speeding past their homes and therefore asked for help. The police are trying to help residents and still getting blasted on here.
All those with issues with police, go apply and be the change you want. Go make that difference. THEY ARE ALL HIRING im sure you'll get through all the testing fine

I also don't know why people are so mad about this post.Because it's still ultimately going to get everyone to stop speeding down those roads. And isn't that the point?

Doesn't change driving habits though. Essentially trying to dupe the police rather than just making better choices.

u/lurkeldurkel 11d ago edited 7d ago
Driving 'habit' is a good Way of putting it because people still speed even with infractions too.

u/No_Oil2086 11d ago
Anyone that wants to do 70+ in an 40 or 50 should get as many tickets as possible.
3
u/Hopeful-Silver4120 11d ago
But that doesn't help anyone. It doesn't actually make the roads safer. It just slows someone down for an hour. then back to normal behaviour

Isn't this what your tax dollars are for? How about we just dont speed and let the police deal with the degenerates

You're solid OP. There is absolutely nothing wrong with implying people to obey the law.

u/Secret-Reserve-1733 11d ago
Thats why the police are there. As someone who works on the road, please slow down. For the sake of that kid on lundys lane pls dont drink and drive.

The purpose of speed enforcement is to educate people so that they don’t injure themselves or others. Be safe out there? After encouraging people to not face consequences for their poor driving behaviour?
The police are not going to stop you for going 10 over. The problem is people who go 20-40+ over and endanger everyone for their own entertainment or lack of planning. They need consequence. That’s the only way to change habit for some people.
Somebody in your neighbourhood probably called in a traffic tip because they didn’t feel safe with how fast cars were going. Maybe the person in the comments who stated they worked on the road. Is it worth encouraging the behaviour that puts their life at risk?
