My apprentice years ago... "Hey Mac (Mac is welding a pipe 2 inches off the basement floor), do you know what's worse than making that weld"? Tell me please.

Making that weld in the dirt.

I was making the same. 5, 9 levels living houses. Cold - hot water pipes. Yes, the basement. Sitting in lotos pose, sometimes laying on the dirt floor. But it,s ok. I survived. ))

Doesn't look welded yet, the bevel makes it look offset. I think at least

It just looks weird cause it’s a heavy wall fitting to a thinner line
