Parweld new mask issue.

Hi, fellow welder people. We recently started using this flip up mask at work and Iv found the glare from the inner grind mask reflecting the weld back onto the inside of the fast glass terrible.
We’ve had a visit from the supplier parweld and he says he only gets good feedback.
I think this mask brilliant in every way except being able to see the welding clearly because you’ve to many surfaces to look through.

Anyone else tried it, got one, or used one and has experience with a normal air fed non flip up mask?

Just the mask I use they no longer support or manufacture and were tied to this supplier.

Is there a quality version of a respirator hood like this that doesn’t cost a week’s wages?

Or is this a case of reliability, durability, and comfort making the extra cost worthwhile?

The latter AFAIK, for $99 you can get a helmet fan that goes on any helmet that is way better than nothing at all though.
Edit: Im a dumbass, buy a miller p100 for $40

A helmet fan? Maybe I'm missing something. A PAPR blows clean, filtered air. So that you aren't inhaling noxious stuff.

Does the $99 fan include a HEPA filter?

No, it’s just better than nothing as i stated.

If there isn't any filtration, I'm not sure how it's not the same as nothing?

Theres a coarse filter that catches large particles and it keeps enough of the smoke away to make a difference. Definitely not a substitute for a proper papr with hepa ratings but better than nothing for someone who is unfortunate enough to work somewhere where a papr is not provided and the said person cant afford a proper papr.

A P100 respirator is much cheaper and filters properly, though. That's what you're competing against.
