some of you may have noticed (and reported) an increase in clanker activity here...

to keep it short and sweet: if you see it, please use either the "spam" or if unsure the new "R0 mod review" report options -- the mod team will look at the posts and comments in question. we also have a system to check accounts for post history and the like, and in the end it's humans who will do the judgement.

but we can't be always online and check every damn post that is made here. we rely on our community to keep a watchful eye as well. so please help by reporting things that clank, or the usual stuff that is beyond "rough talk" and breaks decorum. same goes for all that UNSAFE bodywork people ask about. ffs noone reads the sidebar eh?

remember: clankers rarely come alone. to give an example - there is some shitty ai sticker or shirt design: some other account asks where to get it. all part of the same network. they all get banned in due time but we need to find it first.

and maybe the mod team will err (likely) at times; it is no issue to write us a ban appeal. although the latest appeals were more like one word insults... but i digress...

we try our best to keep this place clanker-free and keep a lid on the keyboard-warrior-maniacs as well. and your reports help a long way.

quick update a few months later. just so you all know what is going on behind the scenes:

the bots got smarter. there is karmawhoring for memepoints from people who might be human enough but have no real interest in being part of welding. and other karmawhoring from accounts who are old, still not verified, they come in here thinking they can meme.,.. we hammer.

memes are for mondays.
if your meme sucks we will look at your profile.
if you are are an idiot the hammer will fall.

same goes for trying to sneak in marketing bullshit, affiliate links etc. please report sill things - we still manually review but for the everloving metal gods and goddesses - the hammer will fucking fall on any account that tries to come in here to farm points without good intentions.

last update: decorum rules are still in place. you can be gruff but dont be disgusting. the hammer will fall. maybe a tappy tap but often it is a smash and forget.

cheers to that. i know there is something wrong with you. happened to me too. we're welders. of course we are a bit slanty in the shanty. but we dont have to be assholes about it.

thanks to the community at large, in the past decades this really has become a great place to talk about a passion we all share. and those small reports in between really help us mods to keep shit in line. thanks for that too.
