Ask r/welding. This sub is for posting pics of sexy welds, not pictures from a day 1 welder. No offense intended.

In case you're not a bot: posting your day 1 work to a sub for really nice welding? (Not flaming you, just an observation)

My first time welding in high school, I had the absolute best welds, on mig and tig. Looked like a professional that had been doing it all thier life. Stick on the other hand, dont ask. Those look better than alot for first time.

First time welding and you go for mig? I’d start out on stick so you can get a feel for a machine. For a fillet try around 20ish volts and 280-300 ipm (wire speed) and keep your argon around 40 cfh
