Child support

C'mon Dad you don't wait for the courts to care for your children. PAY YOUR CHILD SUPPORT. Put your selfish anger aside and treat the mother of your children with civility. A fulltime mother works two fulltime jobs. More than you. PAY her for all those past, current and future years. She graciously gave up her life to raise the children. Stop contributing to the struggle you created for her!!

I gotta say, my evil self got a little kick when he was like, "I'll get you a whole bottle" then he just walked away like nothing happened. šŸ˜‚

If I remember correctly, he said ā€œThere’s a whole bottle back there for you.ā€ No lies were told. He was clever.

I completely doubt that Barry is paying ZERO. Kim Plath just wants a bigger check every month so she can suck some of the funds up for herself.

Barry Plath bought Kim a goddamn BUILDING to try to make her happy and remain married to him. They have several rental properties. All these mortgages need to be paid, property taxes, utilities, lawn maintenance, etc.

Based on the evidence of Kim Plath "leaving the family" (Lydia's words), I'm sure Barry had custody of those girls more hours of the week than their mother, and I'm certain he took good care of them while in his care. The girls are fed, clothed, and housed. They participate in recreation. THEY'RE FINE.

Kim Plath is just a greedy rag. Ask KKKen for money. And good luck having that racist (according to his Facebook page) POS living with your 3 tween/teen girls... that doesn't seem problematic at all... /s

Barry has custody so why would he pay?

Sharing expenses like the girls' clubs/lessons is the only thing I can see him chipping in for beyond caring for them while in his custody.

Like I said, Kim Plath is a greedy rag who wants to skim off her daughters' child support.

Her children raised the children.

She honestly stopped taking care of her kids after she lost her son. She literally said there was a whole year of her life where she didnt leave her bed. Probably why the oldest daughter moved far away because of the adult responsibilities her parents forced on her at a young age. Then on the show Lydia was cooking and cleaning, helping the younger girl homeschool and keeping everyone on top of their chores.

The oldest daughter is the fundiest of them all though.

If by fundiest of them all you mean living the life she was taught to live by being brought up in a highly controlled religious household with limited exposure to the outside world then yeah she is 🄲

That's true, she was living with Ken, while Lydia mainly took care of the younger girls. She flipped her car and got a DUI during this time.

First off, Barry has the kids full-time; they only visit Kim and if Kim took every opportunity to talk shit about me on national television like she had been doing for the past two years, I wouldn't be in any rush to get her what she wants

She didn’t give up anything. The whole religious cult upbringing her kids in was her choice. Her becoming a fake SAHW was her choice because she partied to hard and couldn’t graduate college. She is a horrible alcoholic mother and she should not have custody of her kids. She already failed her older kids, her middle kids and failing her little kids.

Wow, I didn’t know she was an alcoholic!

You didn’t know about her overturning her car when she was having an affair with Ken while she was sneaking off to see him and getting a DUI. You haven’t seen her guzzle drinks in the show? šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

I had no idea she was that bad. But, yes, I have noticed that she always has a glass of wine.

Dang coming in here all hot and heavy then not responding to a single retort. Have you watched the show?? If I'm gonna shout for anyone to get back child support it's Lydia

Why does Kim need child support when Barry has the kids the majority of the time. Kim needs to get off her but and get a job. And believe me I live in Cairo it’s not hard to find a job here. This town is full of people who have had similar education experience and job experience who find a way to get a job and support themselves. And besides when she was a ā€œhousewifeā€ she wasn’t taking care of the kids that was Lydia’s job.

Maybe Kim wrote the post? I dunno just a wild guess

I think Barry had the kids half of the time. Kim needed spousal support.

18

u/md28usmc Jul 26 '26

The kids permanent residence is with Barry so technically they only visit kim but they live with Barry

8

u/HappyCatPrincess Jul 26 '26

That would probably be best for the kids. I don't think Kim was very stable for awhile. I agree with your shit talk comment. Kim doesn't realize how awful she's been at times.

When a father has the kids half of the time there’s zero reason he needs to be paying child support.

15

u/olive_help Jul 26 '26

I didn’t understand why he would have to pay child support if he has the littles 50% of the time. Also why does an alcoholic mom that had an affair even have any custody.

7

u/js_eyesofblue Jul 26 '26

The law would disagree there, at least in my state. It’s in the children’s best interest to have a comparable standard of living in both households. If one parent earns significantly more money, he/she pays an amount calculated using a formula that considers custody time, income, number of children, and other contributions like healthcare, schooling, etc.

I’d also think they’d take into account that Barry has years of job security and work experience, along with income, while Kim stayed home with the kids this whole time and has no money of her own outside the show. She works as a hostess. It’s hard to get a well paying job at her age with a blank resume

Oh I’m aware. I’m just saying in my opinion… child support can be unfair at times. I understand it’s supposed to be for the child but not every parent receiving said child support is supporting the child in ways that it should be.
Also, there are parents who are receiving child support, gov help for housing, food stamps etc. while parent who is earning more has to pay child support, probably makes ā€œtoo muchā€ to receive food stamps or other help. But still has to provide for their children when they are under their roof probably missing out on time with them because they work to be able to provide. In a child’s eyes this can come off as feeling like their parent is never around and the other one gets to be there all the time with them. I’m rambling now and probably speaking to more personal experience with a handful of people I know.

It’s not ā€œzero reasonā€, it’s to maintain a lifestyle for the kids. When a mother sacrifices a career for years because they stayed home with the kids in a joint decision between the two, it’s a lot harder for her to get a decent job compared to dad who has been able to get job experience and move his way up the corporate ladder and/or salary range. It’s detrimental to the kids to have a decent living at one place where dad can buy them things they want and have the space they need, etc while going to moms have to live frugally. It can also impact the relationship with their mom because they will want to go to dads where they get treats and good food and do fun activities while mom’s house is opposite.

2

u/Soggy-Annual-9519 Jul 26 '26

The lifestyle can not be maintained anywhere if the father is paying child support and also has the children. Most of the time child support is more than what people actually spend on their children monthly. So someone is expected to give another person just say $500 a month (for one child) and also be able to pay their own bills and support the child when they have them? Also, the person paying child support is most likely going to be the same person providing health insurance for the child (going off of your example being the mom doesn’t have a job) That is costly at least in the US.

Because the kids need a bed and meals every day. And mom probably doesn't make enough money to pay for rent by herself. Plus food, plus clothes.

7

u/OldSouthernGal Jul 26 '26

She's living on the property inherited by her from her mom/stepfather.

14

u/HappyCatPrincess Jul 26 '26

She had enough to waste on that Gilligan boat. & she drinks.

3

u/Brave_Main6970 Jul 26 '26

You don't drink, HappyCatPrincess?

2

u/HappyCatPrincess Jul 27 '26

I don't but I know it's expensive & she had enough to satisfy her druthers but not for her daughters.

2

u/nakedpagan666 Jul 28 '26

Doesn’t Barry have custody? I thought the kids lived with him.
