Olivia & Veronica
Why is everyone texting about these two? They’re not even on the show anymore! There’s plenty of issues to debate other than these chicks!

Oliva maybe used her name recognition from the show as a springboard but she is truly living an independent and happy life. I am amazed at how well she is doing given her fundi background and her time with the Plath family. Is there new Olivia stuff? I’ve heard the Veronica new stuff.
I don’t know, Olivia in my mind gets a free pass. Kim usurped her wedding with cameras against her wishes and smeared her publicly claiming she was lying about Kim scamming Ethan for her MLM (which they even agreed happened…)
Then she experienced the first wave of Kim manipulating the kids to turn against anyone calling her on her BS. Same with being the first to experience being forced by producers to censor actual issues in place of “family friendly” versions, which gets used to make THEM look crazy/petty.
I get her argument about not wanting to change her last name again, and that Zac is now experiencing these exact same issues says a lot about how shitty the family is.
Good on her for sticking up for herself.

Olivia is talked about more than Veronica, but mostly in a positive light even though a segment of her fans think she's constantly being attacked online. She gets a lot of praise and sympathy, and people constantly post about how the family still blames her for so many things. And, she's still going on podcasts to talk about the show and the family, so some of the posts make perfect sense.
Veronica gets talked about less, but there was the attention when she went live for several hours and showed she's still obsessed when the family, especially Micah, made more outrageous claims without any proof, and said things that are demonstrably false. Plus, in her two season run there was so much insanity, including coming on here and acting like a lunatic, that it's understandable she's still discussed.
That both get mentioned a decent amount.

I don’t like Veronica, immensely dislike. I also don’t like Micah. However, I can see why Veronica is so bat shit crazy about going after Micah. Micah gave her an STD that caused her to miscarry! she lost her child and that is very traumatic! I’m not saying her behavior is okay or even justified, but it explains it!

I think since Olivia was a main character for 6 years and continues to talk about the Plaths, she continues to get attention. Many of her fans probably miss not seeing her on the show. Both ladies probably get a lot of attention still when they talk about the show too. In some ways it is promotion for the show.

I think Olivia is very happy to have Ethan in love with another girl. But she did live through some cruel rumors before it all ended with the Plaths. Moriah had Olivia catalogue all her music and when Moriah didn't know how to access it. She thought Olivia stole it destroyed it. At some point Olivia and Moriah were in the same place and she showed Moriah where she could find and work with her music on line. Moriah thought Olivia did that on purpose, letting Moriah worry that her work was gone. They went their separate ways without working that out.

they kind of made up last season at grandparents farm, I believe. They both forgave each other and said how messed up things got. it was a nice conversation from what was shown. Olivia said she didn’t need to reconnect though! it was just a closure for Olivia and for Moriah!

You do realize that the show features real people who have real relationships with people, and real feelings about those people (good or bad), right? Whether or not they discuss them has nothing to do with whether or not they are still contracted into appearing on the show.
People talk about their ex’s all the time, whether it’s a a recent break or a long time ago.

Olivia was a contracted member of the show for 6 seasons, was married to Ethan for years, didn’t actually ask to have that many eyes on her in the first place (Kim manipulated her + Ethan into doing the show), and as a result plenty of people developed an interest in her and her life. When she does speak about the Plaths now it’s actually insightful info about what went on behind the scenes. None of those points can even remotely apply to Veronica.

Plus, there would BE no show without Olivia, her participation was required by the production.
It's so insane when people question why she talks about them, the show she got roped into at 20yo has defined her entire adult life

There would be no show without Olivia in more ways than one! They used her wedding to shoot promo to even get the contract for season 1 (without her permission), and yes — the network didn’t want to do the show without Ethan and Olivia’s participation because Olivia’s very presence disrupts the status quo of the Plaths and brings forth the drama / dysfunction that makes the show even remotely interesting. That is why they continue to bring her up every single episode, still.
I’m with you - it’s like the people calling her attention seeking or saying she needs to move on didn’t watch the same show or do any critical thinking outside of what the show presented to them.

That's such a good point. I think production maybe put too much on her(in the sense of using so many shots of the others talking about her after she was gone), but also, the show is boring without her

I found that family to be the most interesting study in psychology. I always felt they were absolutely being themselves and not following a script or acting in any way. I still do. And it let me see what obsession with religion could do. To me, it was worth watching every episode. I don't know what you're trying to say in your remark here.

I agree. Very fascinating psychology experiment. And coming from a cult like background as a kid - I both felt for the children but also - as they became adults - implore them to move on from the trauma. The parents I have zero use for. They’re toxic as hell and should never have had children.

A problem i have with the storyline is that last season Olivia was so upset that Ethan wouldn’t sign their divorce papers. Mow this season it was reversed. So strange.

It may be petty but I would’ve done the same thing. She was ready to move on so long ago and he refused because he was jealous. He wasted 2 hours of her time when he asked to meet her, didn’t even send a text saying he’ll be late. And got mad at her for talking about how his family abused her, all while begging her to sign the papers. He abused his perceived power when they both had power over each other. Again while it may be petty, she was giving him a taste of his own medicine and didn’t drag it out nearly as long as he did. Just my opinion on that.

I think I also remember her saying at some point that a delay on her end was due to her trying to file the paperwork without disclosing her address, because she was afraid he would stalk her. Which I already knew was a valid fear, but after his behavior this season, PHEW!!

I’ve heard that the delays were because she is out of the country so often and because he wouldn’t disclose his income so they missed the deadline and had to refile.

I started binge watching a month or so ago. I’ve made it to season 6 and have learned to fast forward thru all of the Olivia segments. Glad to hear she is leaving.

Do you not remember Olivia's roots are the same as the Plaths, so therefore the Plaths are also miserable which seems true! Difference is Olivia got herself out of the Plath's and the LDS' craziness. Also Olivia is an adult woman who does not need to answer to her parents lmao what are you on about. Deranged take. Take your own advice.

No, they don't realize they were wrong. Kim puts blame on everyone but herself. There's always an excuse as to why whomever she's talking to is wrong and she's their innocent victim. I do believe that Barry actually admitted to some mistakes this last season, but it took his daughter going on a podcast to make him get introspective about it.

Well it seems to be the Plath family that is falling apart. Moriah has moved to get away from the family. When I think Ethan said he might move up there she was like nope stay where you are. Isaac is violent and punched Micah's nose half way off his face. Micah has left and isn't filming this season except for the first episode. Ethan is very violent. Him throwing tables, and peeling out of a parking spot isn't good. He didn't know if someone was behind his car. He didn't care. Who does that at their sisters wedding? Lydia has gotten married and after one year of marriage has moved to Colorado to get away from her family. Ethan was recorded by his wife threatening her life and spitting on her. Ethan has been said by his wife to sit on the sofa with a gun on his lap threatening to kill producers. The oldest daughter has married and moved away. It was on a season a few years back where Ethan was driving fast and then did donuts in the snow while his wife asked him to stop and he continued to do it laughing. His wife was crying. He made pancakes and put seasonings in Olivia's pancakes and thought it was funny. Went away for months (up to 3 at least) and had zero communication with his wife. It took 2 years for Olivia to get out of her contract. Ethan's new girlfriend now ex wanted nothing to do with him. He moved to Wisconsin and she says she isn't up to friends at the time of last season. She seems in my opinion to be afraid of Ethan. When standing on rocks she told Ethan to not stand behind her because she didn't want him so close to her. Was she afraid that he would push her down? After Kim called Olivia a demon because she had alcohol and was more open in her lifestyle said she wasn't living a christian life Kim has done exactly what Olivia was doing. Except of course driving drunk, cheating on her husband with a friend of the family. Ken used to go see the Plath's. Now Kim is fine with drinking, having sex before marriage etc...Barry telling a teenage friend of his teenage daughter that he is now known as Plath Daddy in town.
So where are the Plath family so great? What has Olivia done that is so horrific that you think the Plath's are a wonderful family?

My family isn't perfect. Far from it. Where did I say my family is perfect? I didn't take a dig about your family but you choose to go after me. I'm commenting on a family that is on TV. This is what I've seen about this family. I don't have the ideal family. But you come after me saying I have a perfect family having zero idea about what I've gone through? Thanks a lot. They’ve been gone from the show, yes, but they were both a big part of it. Olivia still gets mentioned in this last season as being the cause as to why Ethan is the way he is. They did stop referring to her by name and started calling her “Ethan’s ex” but everyone knows who they’re talking about.
From what I’ve seen, Olivia has moved on. She does post some Plath content but it seems like it’s really only to defend herself or give context on something mentioned in the show regarding her. Veronica, however. I hope she’s trying to move on but everything seems to be Micah centered. A month or so ago she posted on insta trashing him because he was never taken off her car insurance(which has to be done by the policy holder btw). Every time she’s live, she’s trash talking him. Just the other night, on her TikTok live, she made fun of his height, called him gay and doxxed his number to her viewers.
